Foghat

I could retire if I had a dollar for every Foghat wire sculpture my classmates made in metal shop.

Ever play scrabble and come up with Foghat?

If I have, I didn't realize it.

Most people don't realise it when they see Foghat.

Lol, do you want best or favorite? Best kind of means most skilled (or something) so on that I said Bad Company.

My favorite though is Little Feat.

Good list, I am very fond of almost all of those bands! A lot of them just didn't have things fall their way at times to become bigger.

All these bands kind of remind me of each other. Some of them I get mixed up, like Humble Pie and Vanilla Fudge, and Grand Funk Railroad and Foghat and the James Gang. These five bands are like the same band with the same guys in disguise.

I was thinking the same thing about Vanilla Fudge and Beck, Bogert and Appice! And Alvin Lee and Albert Lee, my whole life. When the Woodstock movie is on with Ten Years After I am always like "which one is that?" At least I know it's not Geddy Lee.

Some people I knew back in the 80's pronounced Geddy's name JEDDIE LEE. This is why I often use this in various threads and JEDI LEE (even though I hate Star Wars).

Not a fan of any of these but I will go with Bad Company just so I have a vote.

Did you make up some of these names, duck? I haven't heard of some of them before.

They're all from the 70's.

Cactus and Mountain sound made up to me.

You've never heard of Mountain? You must have heard of Mississippi Queen? That's a Mountain song.

Here's one of their songs:

I know Bad Co the best, but I suspect with a few of these bands if I took some time with their records I would like them better than BC. Paul Rodgers is a heck of a singer though.

This is the one from Cactus that used to get airplay in the 70's. I guess they never filmed a video until decades later? :guitar: :guitar:

For me it is close between Montrose and Mountain. But I probably listen to Mountain more, so they just edge it.

This is my favourite Mountain track -

Wait....

Is Foghat supposed to be a play on the word "forgot?" Like, said with a country accent, "Oh I foghat about that!" That would be better then just putting two random words together...

I never realised Foghat were originally an English band. I always assumed that they were American.

I kinda always thought of them as the US equivalent of Status Quo....... heads down, no-nonsense mindless boogie!

Of these bands I've only heard songs from GFR, Foghat, Bad Company, Montrose and only 1 from James Gang. Was very tempted to go with Bad Company but I need to hear more of their stuff before I put them over Foghat. So Foghat takes my vote by just a sliver.
