  1. 1. Which of these guitarists is the daddy?

I see Brian May, I don't even have to think.... He is the god of all guitar players.

My thoughts exactly. The only competition for him in my book is Alex Lifeson.

I love Lifeson. But he comes nowhere close to Brian in my Opinion. Brian is one of a kind!

James Patrick Page. I know he was often sloppy and missed a ton of notes, but there was just something positively feral about the energy he brought to that band. That mix of the blues and heavy music and the bizarre, pure rock and roll.

What treeduck should REALLY be doing is checking out my interviews with Steve Morse and John Petrucci.

Dare I ask, how is Steve? The tendonitis/hand troubles, has that relented? He`s definitely one of my favourite musicians and I`d like to think he`s as good a guy as he always seems.

I think he'll be the first to retire from Deep Purple, even though he's the youngest guy in the band.

Page is an innovator and an inspiration, and I love a lot of his riffs and solos, in spite of the occasional looseness in the playing. But he could never quite seem to pull it off live - he looked cool as hell, but the playing suffered a bit.

Once Page got off the smack his live playing got a lot tighter. I saw Zep in '77 and while he was good he was as you intimated, a bit sloppy. I saw Page and Plant in '98 and he was tight as a drumhead. The difference was remarkable. If you can find some video from the '98 tour I think you'll be appreciative.

Who do you think is the more accomplished guitarist of these three legends? Or if you like who do you prefer?

Brian May should win this contest. A genius too.

Jimmy Page? A Legend. A Pioneer. But he was always shitfaced playing live. Jimmy is totally overrated.

Pete Townshend is my DADDY!!!!

I know even Pete says he's NOT a lead guitar player but I think he leads in everything!!!!!! Even Pete's solo albums RULE!!!! Brian's and Jimmy's suck.

Pete would be my number two just for Quadrophenia.
