  3. 3. Which thought is closest to your own in regards to Tarantino as a director?

    • He’s my favorite or one of my favorite directors of all time!
    • He’s good, not one of the all-time greats but he’s made plenty of fun movies.
    • He’s alright I guess. His 90s stuff is much better than his newer stuff though.
    • Hit or miss. Total gamble every time.
    • One trick pony. He gets lazier and lazier with each new movie.

    • Awful. Over appreciated. Douchebag to boot.

I wouldn't say that he's my favourite director of all time, but I really dig his movies.

He's got a strange and quirky point of view that I relate to.

I love all of the 70s references.

The soundtracks are always amazing.

He has this knack of creating movies that you want to watch over and over again even though they are over the top.

Also, think of how many amazing lines you can't help but love and quote.

"Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is his crowning achievement so far.

Just brilliant.

You didn’t vote for Once Upon...?

I haven’t seen it. I won’t see it because he’s let me down too many times this century + I really dislike Pitt.

- The Kill Bills basically bored me to death.

- Death Proof had some good parts but dragged in spots and had a cast that I wasn’t too crazy about (not including Kurt and Rosario Dawson)

- Basterds was mostly good but lost my interest towards the end.

- Django was good up until Waltz was out.

- Hateful 8...that movie just felt lazy. What a let down considering that cast.

- His 90s stuff was another ballgame. His best stuff imho. The lines people recite are from those movies.

He really redeemed himself with the latest film.

Brad Pitt was amazing in this movie.

He deserved the Oscar for his role.

You NEED to see it.

Every time someone has said that Pitt was awesome (examples: 12 Monkeys, Fight Club, Snatch), I was always let down. He almost ruined Snatch.

I don't think he was that great in those movies.

There is a difference between an actor and a movie star.

This is the first movie where you forget it is Brad Pitt (the movie star) and get lost in his character.

I didn’t think he was good in those either. I thought he was shit!

That pikey accent he did in Snatch was total garbage. Side note trivia: The only reason he did that accent is because he couldn’t pull off a standard British accent.

Agreed.

He over played his insanity in 12 Monkeys.

That’s what I thought about 12 Monkeys but my circle of friends always thought he was brilliant in that especially. Never understood that

He never stopped being Brad Pitt.

I've yet to make it all the way through that movie.

Personal fave Kill Bill (i voted 1 but really both) for a variety of reasons, some personal.

Not so keen on Jackie Brown, Death Proof, Inglourious, Hateful Eight .... love all the rest.

If the first question allowed for multiple votes, my top four are Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Those four I can watch over and over again. I rated Tarantino as hit or miss, because aside from those I listed, I really don't care for the others. He is a great storyteller, but I'm not a big fan of the gratuitous grindhouse violence.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood was genius, imo.

Yeah, if the first question allowed for multiple votes then we’d have the 10-way tie specialists voting that way.

See, Johnny...

...some great TRF reviews for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".

It may be time to give it a view.

Matrix and Lord of the Rings get awesome reviews on TRF too but I dislike those too. I can use “despise” for Matrix.

While I did enjoy the LOTR Trilogy, I confess I didn't get "The Matrix".
