When, and if I drink beer as an alcoholic beverage, then the brand I've liked, and my favorite is "Dos Equis" lager.

Ah yes! a fine Mexican brew.

Not bad, and Dos Equis Amber on draft is very good. But if I'm eating Mexican, my go to is Negra Modelo (yellow label on bottle; not to be confused with Modelo Nigra (black label), which is piss.)

Negra Modelo is a lovely beer!! We can't really get it over here but i always have a few when i am stateside!!

I like most of what is listed above.

Stay thirsty my friends!

My usual to go in the bars here is Yeungling on tap, but for a while the bars were out of it, possibly due to lack of ingredients at their brewery in the Tampa area. So as a substitute I was pounding Sam Adams Boston Lagers and Summer Ales (Summer Ale particularly good in this hot steamy FL weather).

Didn't want to cook dinner Monday night, so I went to my local hangout for a plate of wings. I see the Yeungling tap handle on the draft line and ask the bartender if they had it back. They did, and I downed a few. Drinking out of those tall boys at home was OK, but it doesn't beat the draft! :hail:

Yuengling is a very good value imo. The owners are dicks imo but its tasty. and has been for years. one of the oldest if not the oldest brewery in the us of a

the yuengling golden lager is effffing fantastic.

as someone who once lived in buffalo, beer and wings are a sacred combination.

Been waiting for months for this place to reopen. Rauf is da man, makes all his beer in accordance with Reitheitgesbot (German brewing purity law of 1516).

https://khoffner.us

Their stuff looks good ..... I like the sound of Riot Blood ..... sounds a bit like a beer we have here called Smithwicks except stronger!

Ah yes! a fine Mexican brew.

When I was in Ireland I was surprised by the popularity of Corona. I asked about it and a local commented, "They've bottled and trademarked the Sun." I thought that was spot on.

Coors Light was also very popular, but I couldn't imagine anyone choosing that over a freshly poured Smithwicks.

I remember asking a Norwegian I met in college "What's the most popular beer in Norway?", and he said "Budweiser."

They must like horses waaaay too much over there.

Indeed!! I must say, a nice pint of Smithwicks is hard to beat! I also like some of the English bottled ales such as Doom Bar, Hobgoblin or Old Speckled Hen for a real malty taste.

I have had hobgoblin and old speckled hen. tasty.

back in the day samuel smiths, stout and brown ales were appreciated regularly. their imperial stout was a touch too much for me.

edit- smithwicks is indeed wonderful. i have been to Ireland and swilled fiercely.

I went to a church picnic today and they were discussing beers. They said German beers are the best. The other beers have too many impurities and additives in them. They said Germany has strict regulations when it comes to beer-making.

Of course, I wouldn't know if this is all true or not, but thought to pass along the info to you.

Das Reinheitsgebot ......A purity law in Germany dating back 500 years restricting the ingredients that can be used to brew beer. A version of it is still being used in Germany today.

Tangy, I dare you to do the hi_water type of poll on beers. There is no way anybody, in their right minds, would pick Miller over Beck's or Coors over Heineken.

the best craft beer from the us is on par with the best craft beer from germany.

becks and heineken were great but nothing special in this day and age. so many more choices. not bad but no longer top shelf IMO
