Totally stolen from RushIsABand and the Glioblastoma website- If you read through the article, this is pretty cool. The Glioblastoma Foundation is sponsoring a research initiative into the disease and asking for donations of $ 21.12. If you donate, you get a nice photo of Neil.

"The Glioblastoma Foundation has announced a new research initiative entitled The Neil Peart Research Award and have kicked off a 2112 Tribute Fundraiser in memory of Neil Peart to benefit the Award. From the Glioblastoma website:

... The award will provide Neurosurgery residents at leading medical institutions around the country with funding to conduct new, cutting-edge glioblastoma research. ... The Glioblastoma Foundation is proud to celebrate Neil's life and legacy with this limited-edition 5" x 7" portrait entitled "The Professor." Fans donating $21.12 toward the newly established Neil Peart Research Award will receive the limited-edition print of Neil to commemorate his life and the impact his music had on so many. All proceeds from the Neil Peart Tribute will be used to support the newly announced Neil Peart Research Award for Glioblastoma. ..."

Thank you for this, blueschica.

For those northerners going to donate there is no donation entry field for "Provinces", so I contacted them to inquire how Canadians can donate in a Canadian's honour :)

Will post a work around when I hear back.

As of Monday @ 20:21 they say they will respond within 72 hours.

Hope there are lots of prints available - um, I mean I hope there will still be time to donate :)

So yesterday I sent a follow up email that it had been about 92 hours...was polite and asked for any information, but no reply yet.

I suspect the offices are likely not operating as usual.

When I do hear news, I will post again.

Best wishes all, stay safe.

Just an update, have still not heard back. There is a "send check" option, but not sure you can dedicate the funds for this cause without further details.

I am finished with checking for updates on this, best of lucks folks :)

I'm sorry they never got back to you! That is most unfortunate since you wanted to donate and I would imagine other Canadians would also have had the same kind impulse. It's too bad they are not more organized; we can only hope it's because they are overwhelmed with donations. Thank you for trying!

I received my portrait yesterday - really nice color 8"x 10" photo with no print on it. I've framed it and placed it in a prominent place in my home. An excellent cause.

Got mine too. Beautiful. Oh and they didn't come crushed or bent. Whew.
