Well, you’ve got a lot of blues rock guitarists here, and some straight up blues guys, too.

Pick one?? Impossible!

My heart goes with Stevie Ray and Duane Allman, above all of the others. I CANNOT pick even one of those two and leave the other one out!

Damn you, Earl!! Lol...

MULTIPLE CHOICE IS ON!

SRV, Duane, and Rory Gallagher. Done!

And there's Danny Gatton.

Not familiar with his work. I wanted to add Howlin' Wolf.

Yes Pat he's good!

You know what Pat? I really botched this poll up. Hope I can get a second chance to edit or I will start over.

I didn't even include the LEGENDARY DAVE MENIKETTI!

Of course he's more rock but BLUES TOO! His Dave Meniketti Band albums are the blues!!!!

DUHHHHH!!

Even Jonny might get upset at me. lol

I thought I wrote a hit poll last night, yet I "Rush"ed it. lol

Forgive me people.

I love my friends on here.

Cheers!

Can't win em all.

Well you've only got 40 choices and even if you had 100 there's still some guys you might forget. I can probably think of some more myself. Here's some more Danny:

Oh, yes- Danny Gatton was fantastic.

I woke up thinking about Pat Metheny and even Wes Montgomery. But that's jazz. I could have added Lee and Larry too then. See? It's a slippery slope.

What about Alvin Lee?

good call

This guy just turned 75 and is still touring. He shows potential.

The last time I saw Robin was about 3 years ago and it was in an older theater in Portland. Happened to be like 95 outside that day and the place had little to no air conditioning. The man, over 70 years old stood under a spotlight for 90 minutes in that kind of heat and absolutely killed it. He had a roadie running out with a towel and wiping the sweat off his face several times every song. Love me some Trower!

Similar to me, seeing him a few years ago. Looked frail enough to be in a wheelchair, but still wailed like old times.

He's just old and thin but to do what he did that night I described showed me how much inner strength he still had (at least 3-4 years ago).

Got "Crusin' Aces" Japan cd with obi

Unfinished Business USA press.

That's a good trio of albums Earl. It's Cruisin' Deuces though!

I first bought 88 Elmira Street when it came out in 1991, so I've been a fan for a while. After that I got New York Stories which is a straight ahead jazz bebop album with players like Joshua Redman etc, he can play jazz great too and then I got Cruisin's Deuces around 1993.

They're good. Danny is a little like Eric Johnson and Steve Morse the way he mastered many styles and guitar techniques, but he has a more traditional sound.

Pat Travers is up there too for me.

Seen him many times and actually had the balls to help Pat and his drummer out one night down the street from me at a little club called Bourbon Street. It was Heaven for guys. Saxon, Iron Maidens, Buckcherry, Lynch Mob, Quiet Riot, Y&T, Pat Travers, Blue Oyster Cult all played there over the years.

So before the Pat Travers Band was supposed to go on, the dickhead opening band's drummer took off his cymbals after they played. He didn't want Pat's drummer to play on them. So while they were all arguing there was a one hour delay. Everyone was getting annoyed so me, Mr. No Fear walked up to the little dressing room door and knocked on it.

Pat opened the door and looked up at me and said "may I help you?" And I said... "Pat! I am a huge fan of yours, I think you are incredible, I am here to help you out. I see that there is a scuffle over letting your drum play with the other drummer's cymbals. I live very close by and I'm a drummer too! I have an extra bag of many good cymbals and hi-hats. Your drummer can use them." Pat looked at me and said! "Wow! That is so kind of you! What's your name? He then told me he would sign anything for me and would give me a free shirt and a copy of his latest cd signed. I said, "Heck yes! I will be right back." He thanks me again and shook my hand.

So I raced home with a buddy of mine. Went into the garage and found my cymbal bag.

We raced back to the small venue, but it had seemed they had worked it all out. As we pulled into the parking lot I could hear "Life In London." I'm like... "FUKK they are playing my favorite song!!" So we raced inside and watched the gig.

After the show Pat was still so nice and gracious. He signed some stuff me, gave a shirt and a signed cd. We talked about rock and roll for a half hour! A GREAT GUY!!!

I LOVE PAT TRAVERS!!!

When Jeff Beck released his Crazy Legs album Danny Gatton was really impressed with it. On that album Jeff did a bunch of Gene Vincent songs which is in Gatton's kind of ballpark.

I passed on that one because Gene Vincent isn't in MY ballpark, I preferred the ones with GENE Simmons and Vinnie VINCENT!
