Check this out from their heyday. :) You're only young once. Cherish each moment. It passes quickly.

Can those here who went to see them in the 80's tell me what it was like?

They have such an energy - it even comes through in a video.

Oh why, oh why didn't I ever go see a band like this instead of duds like U2???????? The decisions we make when we make them - too bad we don't record for prosterity what led up to them. I would have had quite a time at one of their concerts. :dweez:

I saw them on that same tour, summer of 1988. I remember the energy, they were great- but to your point, they were still young, still in their 20s or maybe just barely 30 years old.

As a frontman, Joe Elliott reminds me somewhat of Free-era Paul Rodgers- just in terms of the energy he brought to it all. Def Leppard was always a little more about flash than a blues-based rock band from 15-20 years earlier, but still, there’s something about him that I think hearkens back to that.

Curiously enough, my interest in them was pretty short-lived. Hysteria was the last album of theirs that I really paid attention to. Those first four are great, though.

They are practicing some songs they haven't played in a long time for the residency in Las Vegas that starts in August and goes through September. I was supposed to go to a couple of shows in September but it didn't work out.

They did that on their last Vegas residency. Sure would be nice if they did that on tour so people who can't make it to Vegas could still see them play some different songs.

On how I thought the concert was, and what I remember, I've said a little bit about it. When they performed "Gods of War", and "Die Hard the Hunter" back-to-back, I really enjoyed, and liked that because both songs are one of my favorites from "Pyromania", and "Hysteria". I think they are one of my top, and favorite hard rock bands, and groups. Sometimes, when I've went to concerts, I'm not able to tell if the band, and group, and artist is, and was having a bad night, or not. In Mar. and Apr. 2013, when they did a previous residency in Las Vegas, it was performing all of "Hysteria". In 2014, they planned on going back to the same residency in Las Vegas, for performing all of "Pyromania", but due to the "Heroes 2014" tour, with Kiss, and the recording of their new studio c.d., and album, the project was pushed back indefinitely. In Aug. and Sept., where they are doing this year's Las Vegas residency, which is at the Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino is a different, and not the same location compared as they did to perform all of "Hysteria", which was at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. On a side, and unrelated other band, and group note, U2, are, and have been a different band, and group, who are great, and have always put on high energy, awesome, and amazing concerts.

I saw them In Maine in the 80's. They were excellent. DEF LEPPARD TOUR - 1983 / 1984 Pyromania Tour if it wasnt Maine it was NH. :chickendance:

I went to the last 2 residency shows at Planet Hollywood and they both were fantastic! Friday night I was GA second row and was able to get pictures and some video. The second night I had a seat in the lower bowl in the first row. I was thankful to have a seat for Saturday night due to I'm short and I can only handle GA for one night! I was able to get better video Saturday night. I got full video of Die Hard the Hunter, Too Late for Love (split into 2 videos due to somebody was walking thru the isle), Slang, Billy's got a gun and Hysteria (I like the old photos they show on the screen).

Aside from the shows, I got to catch up with my def leppard friends and meet new people. A friend and I split the hotel room cost (at Planet Hollywood) and we went to the pool Friday afternoon and Saturday we went to Caesars Palace and Mandalay Bay to see the Shark Reef (our friend Cindy came along as well). I had arrived Thursday afternoon and a bunch of us went and ate at Margaritaville at The Linq. I didn't want to come back home, however, it was great sleeping in my own bed! I'll post the rest of the videos when I get them uploaded! :)

I have uploaded 3 of the videos so far.

Leanne, I can't thank you enough! It sounds as if you had a wonderful time. You are so fortunate.

Rick is one happy drummer!!!

They sound fantastic still. Don't know how they do it.

EDIT: I can't view Too Late. Something about the owner granting me access to them.

Leanne, I was another person, who couldn't see the live, concert video for "too Late For Love". I can see, and watch them, now. Thank you, for deciding to upload the live, concert videos of them. I do appreciate it. Lorraine, for Def Leppard's latest Las Vegas tour residency, I've known what their setlist is. J, on it, they were starting, with "Die Hard the Hunter" in their setlist. One interesting thing about this band is with the exception of Pete Willis getting fired during the recording of Pyromania, and Steve Clark dying before Adrenalize was recorded, their lineup has been the same for about 40 years. If Clark hadn't have died, I suspect Collen would still be the "new guy."

All I know is that they could have thrown Rick under the bus. They were at the height of their career when that happened with no time to waste to keep the momentum going. But they didn't, and he worked his tail off instead of feeling sorry for himself. Most others would have wallowed in self-pity and wound up o'd-ing or just doing themselves in.

I love these guys

Leanne, how much were the tickets for right near the stage?

"Do us a favor. Don't forget us, and we won't forget you!"

I bought my ticket for Friday night from a girl on a Facebook group and it was $175. My seat ticket was more because it was a re-sale and I was lower bowl in the first row (in the $300 range, yikes! But it was totally worth it!). Joe still sounds great live. He takes care of his voice when he's not singing. If he had any off moments, I didn't notice them at all. The only technical thing I noticed was during Saturday's show, they started playing beginning of Too Late and it was quickly switched to Foolin'! Too Late was after Foolin'.

Another quote Joe says is 'We will see you next time, and there will be a next time!'

I absolutely do not mind at all uploading my videos, I'm thrilled you are enjoying them! I got some short videos on Friday night, I didn't get the entire songs because I was on the floor, second row and I'm short so the visual aspect isn't that great! ALSO, there is alot more crowd noise (alot of people saying 'woooooo' and singing). I'm going to jump in the shower and then I'll upload a few!
