What's for lunch

Cold cuts sandwiches. White cheddar popcorn for Karen, pretzels for me. Pop.

Damn, I wish I had some Mello's Chicago Mix right now.

PJ, have you been to Panera lately?

What would you recommend from there?

Not in a while. Karen was in long-term rehab at the start of year and I would get carryout from there to supplement the nasty hospital food. Bagels, croissants, a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich, and the broccoli and cheese soup. The salads, OTOH, were nothing to write home about. The real star of the show was this "everything" cookie a rich buttery dough studed with nuts and chocolate pieces. Those things were like crack, bought them every chance I got, despite being 5 dollars each. Only problem with Panera is proximity, closet one to our house is 15 minutes one way drive. I usually hit the local yokels instead.

We have one about 7 minutes from us. I'm going to check the place out. That soup sounds good, and Autumn is around the corner. :) I'll get a cookie too.

A co-worker brought in a huge pot of Hmong quail egg soup. The aroma was really funky, but when I sat down and tried a good sized bowl, it was really tasty!

I needed a few breath mints afterwards..... :laughing guy: :laughing guy:

Leftovers...

Cranberry-goat cheese puffs, stuffed mushrooms, cornish hens, cornbread stuffing, rice pilaf, creamy green beans...followed by pecan cheesecake, pecan shortbread, bread pudding...

Stacked chicken enchiladas, from Chuy’s- with their hatch green chile salsa.

And their tortilla chips, with tomatillo salsa.

All I can say is, yummmmm!

Bar S thick bologna, made with chicken, pork added. :atickhum:

Ah, the champagne of bologna . . ..

From the local sandwich shop, a St. Louie, which is ham, turkey, bacon, on wheat bread with provolone, lettuce, green peppers, black olives, honey mustard, and mayo. Then toasted. Delicious.
