Is this exciting or depressing? That seems like a lot of derivative material. Even if they bat the avg of the first three phases, that's a lot of dreck.

Of course, no one's making me go or spend money, so if this looks good, enjoy! I hope they're great.

Are they still using comic stories, or are they on their own? We know how well that worked out for GoT . . .

I'm intrigued by Eternals, Shang-Chi and Doctor Strange.

Black Widow will probably be more of the same - Natasha beating up people and looking sexy while doing it. Meh.....

I have no interest in seeing another Thor film, especially with a Jane Foster-Thor. Ridiculous.

I'm up for all this, but Multiverse Of Madness either needs to go hard, or go home. And Blade?

If it's bloodless, count me out.

Well, I haven't followed Marvel stuff about at all, but I just saw the latest Spiderman movie with my little sister and we both really enjoyed it! If they're still making highly enjoyable movies this far on, I still stand the chance of going to see one every once in a while since I know they'll be good. I would like to see the next Spiderman sequel now.

From what I've read, it's supposed to be quite the horror film. :o :o

“Still using comic stories”? Yes, no, and some butchering going on...

For the Eternals, they’re sex changing two big characters for whatever reason. They already did that in Captain Marvel (Annette Bening’s character).

For Valkyrie in Thor 4, they’re making her a lesbian for no real reason...unless you count agenda-based reasons.

For Jane Foster in Thor 4, yeah she became Thor in the comics already...so, they’re adapting one of the dumbest Thor storylines to film. Yippee.

Sadly, it’s the only one from this batch that I’m interested in.

Black Widow should be okay but I’m not that pumped for it.

I should be excited about Shang-Chi and what will likely be a proper Mandarin this time, but I don’t know...the MCU has been letting me down recently.

I will never count them as legitimate reasons. Never.

The cape and tights are surely beginning to chafe and smell by now.....

You said a very similar thing when Avengers 1 came out...which was 7 years ago

These movies won’t die. In fact, they’re growing in popularity (not with me, but they are).

So it seems that Avengers: Endgame has surpassed Avatar as the highest grossing film worldwide.

$2,790,216,193 - Current estimate. Of course, it's a bogus number, as it's not adjusted for inflation.

Nevertheless, Endgame fanatics are hootin' and hollerin' in celebration.... :laughing guy:

Yeah that’s weak.

In any case, I didn’t enjoy Avatar and I didn’t enjoy Endgame as much as I had hoped.

The prequel "Black Widow" movie might be interesting to see what, why, and how Natasha Romanoff became the type of person she did. With "the Eternals", I would have to see more on what it might be like before anything else. With "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", the same thing. I would think "Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness" should be interesting to see, especially when it'll have Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in it, who is another sorcerer. I've liked the three Thor movies, and having another one in "Thor: Love and Thunder" should maybe, make it worthwhile, but it would depend on how it is, and will be made. I didn't like the three Blade movies, so having a reboot of Blade won't make me want to go see, and watch it in the theatres. As for the second "Black Panther", and the third "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, I didn't watch the first Black Panther one, and the second Guardians of the Galaxy one. I would see "Captain Marvel 2". Even when "Fantastic Four" still will be with Marvel, and Disney, which bought the properties from Twentieth Century Fox, won't make me want to see another reboot version of them in theatres. With the seven X-Men movies there have been, I've liked them, and seeing another, I will look forward to it. With the seven Spider-Man movies, the same of wanting to see a sequel to "Spider-Man: Far From Home". I didn't see, and watch "Ant-Man and the Wasp", so I don't know anything else. Edited by Derek19

Featuring Natalie Portman as Jane Foster (who obtains the mantle of Thor)

That will be shit. Thor is Thor, not a woman from Earth. PC bullshit.

I smell box office flop.

A 5' 2", 90 lbs dripping wet, woman from Earth. They literally had Portman standing on a box while filming her scenes with Hemsworth during the first two Thor films.

Director Taika Waititi and Hemsworth are best buddies, and they have no problem with turning the character of Thor into a bad joke.

There was a lot of bs (Goldblum’s rendition of Grandmaster being the biggest heap of crap) in Thor Ragnarok. BUT, that movie got a lot of praise from fans and critics. And Goldblum got a lot of accolades too.

I can’t watch Thor as a comedy. Even Thor 2 which I thought was just a so so movie and one of my least liked MCU films is more palatable than what Waititi is doing with the Thor characters.

I would attribute the positive responses to the changing demographics of film audiences. Lots of younger fans, fewer old school traditionalists. I couldn't care less about the critics' opinions, especially if they're not well-versed in the history of the characters.

I don’t care about the critics either. And I don’t care about demographics either. BUT these are big things that influence the direction of these movies

The film companies are gonna do what they want. I've accepted the fact that pleasing traditionalist comic book fans is not high on their list of priorities.

So be it. They're losing part of their fan base, but they're still making insane profits. They're happy.

For me, Avengers Endgame was the big denouement. I'm glad they wrapped it up so I don't have to invest so much interest in it anymore! Comic book movies are wearing thin on me--and I was a huge comic book fan in the 80's and early 90's. I don't even care much about the new Spider-Man movie, and Spidey is one of my faves. I'll see it on DVD. Beyond that, Dr. Strange and Guardians are definitely on my radar. Thor would be, but the synopsis sounds way too SJW, so Marvel can keep that one. And I don't care about the MCU appropriating the FF4 or X-Men. I would have LOVED to see Beast in The Avengers or FF4 in Infinity War, but the whole scene has peaked and the best characters and actors have flown the coup. I don't mean to be negative, but I'm probably sharing a lot of people's opinions at this point. To each his own though! Excelsior!

I'm, and have been adding my own thoughts, and opinions to, and regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universes' movies. We all have an opinion whether it, and they are the same, or not. When, and after I watch a movie, I don't give, and haven't given my own personal grade on them because when I think of something worthwhile, and meaningful to say including appropriate, then it's when I will make a point, and points to say it, and them, especially on a public forum. With some critics, and other people, who are fans, and try to keep up, with the changes on what is happening, and going on about any superhero in the comics before anything else, I would think, and feel they do know their backstory. Even if the changes are little, or small, the writers, producers, and directors can, and do make them for trying to make the movie, or movies better, than what they are. Some of them do benefit from them, whereas, other ones don't benefit from them, which is, and can be a hit, and miss. Edited by Derek19
