1. anything by Justin Beiber

2. Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson

3. anything by One Direction

4. anything by Taylor Swift (sorry Segue)

5. Closer by The Chainsmokers

I like this list so I don't need to make my own. Call Me Maybe was the first one that popped into my head.

 Sorry, man!

Both of those bug me because of their musical laziness. Neither have a chorus or a bridge, just the same melody over and over and over again.

Zager and Evans try to disguise this by endlessly modulating. I think this song has more modulations than "Seasons in the Sun"!

Z&E thought so much of this melody they even gave it a subtitle: "Exordium & Terminus." Whoa! This song has more names than musical sections!

Mungo Jerry just stick with the melody throughout the song, and the instrumental break is a tack-piano playing the same goddamned thing! :P

And when the singer runs out of words, he brings out the "la-di-da-dees." Argh! Criminal! :rage:

But both songs were hits, so what the hell do I know?

Sorry if I curdled your musical milk. :(

Nah, no worries- nothing curdled.

Re: the Joan Osborne song- yikes, I hadn’t even thought about that kind of stuff...there’s a whole load of tripe from that era that that reminds me of. Hootie and the Blowfish and Alanis Morissette come to mind. Ugh.

Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" was played all the time everywhere in Southeast Asia the last time I visited. I f*cking LOATHE that shitty piece of shit.

I hate it so much, I'd forgotten it. Sorry, "Wasn't That a Party"!

Ditto and they aren't as overplayed as some classic rock stuff.

My 5 off the top of my head:

Sweet Home Alabama (makes Hotel California and Stairway to Heaven seem underplayed in my neck of the woods)

Anything by Steve Miller from The Joker album onward (ditto)

Mickey by Toni Basil (needs zero explanation)

I'd Do Anything But I Won't Do That by Meat Loaf (I like Bat Out of Hell but fukk this song)

Mr. Roboto by Styx (utter crap)

I hate this song so much. I can't stand that woman's voice. I always muted it when they played it on Dawson's Creek.

I was reminded of it again when I was watching Love Island today. The fact that it's so overplayed makes me hate it even more.

Paula Cole insults other women in her songs, specifically blondes. Yet she claims to be a feminist.

A lot of people were ticked off when she won the best new artist Grammy. She was the Esperanza Spaulding of her time.

Pretty Fly by the Offspring is such an overplayed song. I cannot stand that band. They are just utterly terrible.

Money -Pink Floyd

The Wall - Pink Floyd

Hey You - Pink Floyd

Run Like Hell - Pink Floyd

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

Yep. Not that I personally don't like them but they are over played for sure. I think it's safe to say that 99 percent of PF's popularity is because of those songs and albums.
