I was pleasantly surprised when the vocals came in. I was cringing that I might hear:

What's with all the death metal bands covering "Subdivisions"? It hardly seems like the first choice . . .?

 

Can't understand that either. Maybe it's a credibility thing?

 

That type of music is for the detached and subdivided....

 

Or its just a great song we can all relate to?

I can relate to it if it's played a certain way.

I get that. For anybody who grew up in a place big enough to have cliques, someone is always left out. That was true even at the smaller rural school I attended.

 

But do we really think that all these metal bands were the "uncool" kids? Isn't that a bit of a stereotype? Or is it a stereotype because it's true?
