Oh it's fun to dream but it may be just one of those coincidences...would be fantastic if there was something to it :sigh:

It wouldn't be Rush. Not ever.

But I can see it happening. Perhaps that's just desperation - hoping that Ged and Al do /something/ more together before it's too late.

Pffft. There are lots of drummers who can do what Peart did in the drumming department but not many in the writing department, which may or not be a good thing.

As long as Geddy and Alex are in it, it’s Rush. Drums are just drums and no one ever got into Rush for the lyrics.

If they were to make an album together they could end up agreeing on trying to sound as little like Rush as possible. Maybe a country album? Edited by snowdogged

Not the case - they've both said "No Neil, no Rush." It's all 3 or nothing.

I could see Geddy and Dave jamming together. When many of my friends come over, we often end up jamming (I have a house full of instruments so nobody needs to bring anything. Just pick something up and play it).

It's just for fun. If this happens to be the case, it could have been just for the evening to have fun with 0 plans to do anything in the future.

Or maybe Geddy just wanted a lift

They don't mean it. They hate him. They always have.

They were just cruising for chicks.

:whipgirl:

Geddy also photographed in a guy's Uber who also delivers pizza and plays in a Dream Theater cover band. Mike Portnoy is really slumming these days. Rumor ensues.

After not listening to Rush for awhile, when I started to again, that's what I noticed the most - the awful lyrics on so many songs. Good thing I was never one for lyrics anyway.

At least it's only Geddy, Al seems busy trying to break into MLB

нет, what made Rush is what the three brought to the table. Which includes much of Peart’s lyrics. Something to ponder not just about picking up and f***ing chicks.

They share a producer - Nick R.

Dave appears on the 2112 Reissue.

As Lorraine pointed out above, their moms are pals.

I'm going to put Dave as Lifeson-Lee/Rush's new drummer in the "most likely" column.

Hardly, Grohl isn’t good enough for their kind of music and he’s busy doing other stuff.

I know that's what attracted many to Rush. but I never listened to music for intellectual stimuli.

That, among other things, is why I did so poorly when it came time for you to pick and choose TrueRushFans™

I could see Dave Grohl being interested. He worked with John Paul Jones in Them Crooked Vultures so might be looking to put another tick in the "look who I`ve made a record with" column. And - I for one probably would miss Neil`s contribution - he can throw some lyrics together without physically straining himself.
