Raided the one dollar bin, 10 for $5!

Wings - Wild Life

ABBA - The Visitors

Elton John - A Single Man

Paul McCartney - McCartney II

Steve Winwood - Arc Of A Diver

Night Ranger - Dawn Patrol

Angel - White Hot

Steely Dan - Countdown To Ecstasy

The J. Geils Band - Love Stinks

LED ZEPPELIN - PRESENCE

also picked up three other used records and more typical prices:

The Rolling Stones - It’s Only Rock And Roll

Cheap Trick - Dream Police

Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables

And you ask, “EP, you really haven’t heard a single one of these records before?” And I answer, nope! :)

The only albums I've heard here are Zeppelin and the Stones.

Record store day again!

Vinyl:

King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon (this is gorgeous to have on vinyl)

Alice Cooper - killer (as fate would have it, my dive into Alice Cooper continues!)

Alan Parsons Project - Gaudi (an album dedicated to an bewildering architect I admire? yes!)

The Who - Odds And Sods (chose this over The Who By Numbers, hope it's awesome!)

CD:

The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin (been looking for this for a long time)

Lacuna Coil - Karmacode (no idea if this is supposed to be a good album to start with, but I hear certain members raving about this band a lot, and I figured I'd give them a shot!)

Killer is great. You might have messed up a bit with that Lacuna Coil pick. Comalies or Broken Crown Halo would have been better. Karamacode was supposed to be the album that broke them huge but they messed up with the guitar tone and sounded too nu metal when people liked them initially for their European goth metal sound. Bottom line is that is not the album I would have gone with to try and get someone into them.

Well, that's good to know. I only spent 3 bucks on it, so I won't be too disappointed if I don't like it.

And I look forward to spinning Killer today! :)

Oh ok, that's about all that album is worth lol. If you ever see Comalies from them pick it up. The sound on that is the reason most people became fans. Cristina Scabbia being incredibly hot also helped though.

In general, I've been getting into The Tragically Hip for about a month. Enjoying it!

You're not too far off from being granted Canadian citizenship then. I'm pretty sure liking them is a requirement to get it lol

I quit dating a Canadian so I think I’ll remain happily American

This band is great driving music!

Anybody remember THIS Album?

5UHPppd.jpg

Well, Jim Skafish has FINALLY Brought his project to fruition! The Original 1980 debut album had been reassembled and been reissued in it's entirety.

Here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/skafish/reissue-the-1980-debut-skafish-album?fbclid=IwAR3kFJdRzFVUq9xw5TKbfgLHgkdHRmr46B3NWGSqdrg2K0eR6rNRGoMcNA4

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY! I've been waiting for this since the original album went out of Print decades ago. My BFF Dave Plummer bought this because of the cover, probably, and we both went to see them in early '80 when they played at The Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. Still have the stub!

Jim Skafish wrote back to me on FARCEbook. Thanking me for purchasing the re-issued CD on Kickstart. I was surprised, but not really. He probably knows the way the world works now, and being about the same age, I trust his attitudes! YAY!

Got home from the bank, checked my e-mail, and saw my local record store was closing indefinitely in an hour and a half because of the virus (moreso because folks just weren't coming in to shop than out of fear of catching it themselves). Went right back out to make sure I got a good record store trip in while I'm stuck home. 7 killer finds, and more if I'd had more (as it always is, lol)!

All vinyl today:

1. Journey - Evolution (I think this puts me at all the classic Steve Perry albums, including my favorite, Captured)

2. Brand X - Product (I've been looking forward to checking Phil's side project out for a long time. One of my favorite drummers playing fusion at the peak of his powers? Sick!)

3. Weather Report - Mr. Gone (Finally found an inexpensive copy of Heavy Weather a few months back, so here's to turning that one-off into a collection, love the cover art here!)

4. The Yellowjackets - Mirage À Trois (I think Treeduck turned me onto these guys a few months back, was psyched to grab this, my fusion "phase" continues)

5. King Crimson - Starless And Bible Black (Feel's like I can never get these guys at a decent price, but lo and behold, 10 bucks and not a scratch on the record! Seeing as I love Red, hopefully this hits nearly as hard)

and a couple Irish releases for St. Paddy's Day

6. Van Morrison - Tupelo Honey (listened to Astral Weeks with dad in the car today, wonder how this stacks up to that masterpiece)

7. Thin Lizzy - Johnny The Fox (I've just finished listening to this, and it's totally wicked! Thin Lizzy may have the most consistent catalogue in classic rock, I just can't fathom how they're mostly known for one, albeit legendary, song)

Noticed I walked out of the record store the other day without anything to add to my alternative collection, so my check today supplanted a remedy from Amazon:

Talking Heads - Remain In Light

Pixies - Doolittle

And no matter what your definition of alternative is, surely one of these two fits the bill :P
