Did you catch that Iron Man 3 kid in Endgame at Stark’s lakeside funeral?

I saw the kid, didn’t know who he was, then later found an article that explained who he was.

Yeah, i didn’t know who it was at first either. As I was walking out of the cinema I thought it was probably him then checked. I found Maria Hill and Thunderbolt Ross the second time I saw Endgame too. I’m sure there are tons of others that I still haven’t caught.

I think everyone was there .... I think

Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Secretary Ross, Carol Danvers, Hank and Janet Pym, Scott and Cassie Lang, Hope Van Dyne, the kid from Iron Man 3, Peter Quill, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Mantis (but no Gamora?), Clint Barton and his Family, Thor, Valkyrie, Bruce Banner, Stephen Strange and Wong, T’Challa, Shuri, Okoye, Sam Wilson, Rhodey, Peter Parker, Steve Rogers

I read somewhere that Howard the Duck is somewhere in that last battle scene with everyone. Couldn’t find him though.

One info that seemed to be bs is that some X-Men names are listed in that memorial area where Lang was looking for his daughter’s name. No reason for that to be true especially since the movie was mainly finished before the Fox deal was.

Just got back from my 3rd viewing. The ending was the same!

Kids were crying. They lost their favorite superhero. :-(

I’m pretty satisfied with Iron Man’s story. I’m really surprised by his death. And I’m amused that prior to opening day some YouTubers were kind of arrogantly predicting that the big last scene with all the characters was going to be Tony & Pepper’s wedding FOLLOWING Cap’s funeral. Man were they wrong.

Next time I see Endgame will be either on a long haul flight or on blu-ray.

I find it very entertaining when a big teaser trailer is released, followed by thousands of predictions and theories, and then seeing all of them - including my own - get shot down.

Yeah!

Things I didn’t expect:

- two heroes putting on the glove

- Iron Man’s death

- Cap to grow old and happy

- Cap to pass on the mantle to Falcon; if anything, I thought it’d go to Bucky...but not yet.

- Though I thought it was a possibility, I didn’t expect Widow’s death

- Vision not being shown or even mentioned

- the bastardization of Thor and handing over Asgard...WTF?!!!

- ALL of the villains being snapped

Things I was right or kind of right about:

- Cap in the past...I thought he’d get STUCK in the past (and lost to modern day Avengers) and not actually come out of it a happy old man. I guess they still can have young Evans Cap in superhero adventures in the past in that alternate timeline.

- Thor and Hawkeye surviving were the two I thought who were guaranteed to make it—Thor because he’s Thor, and Hawkeye because he’s been the least spotlighted original Avenger so his death wouldn't have had much impact.

There are probably a few others on both ends that I’ve forgotten.

I figured on Tony's Death. As Robert's contract was expired, lol

Mick

I figured that at least one hero would die, but I wasn’t sure who. Stark was a logical choice, as he could not handle being “retired”. He would always want to be involved. I thought Natasha may die, which would have had Banner go off into a Hulk rage like we’ve never seen. I was totally wrong on that.

UNFORTUNATELY, you were wrong on that.

And in all that last battle mayhem, Drax never did get in any kind of pounding on Thanos for the murder of his family. How cool could it have been to have had Hulk (Professor or savage) + Drax get ONE big double punch in on Thanos?!! It’s not like it couldn’t have been done.

RDJ’s contract first ended with Iron Man 3...but then he made another contract. Contracts aren’t too big of a factor when more can be made.

Who do you guys think the next team will have? Who would you like on it?

Probably won’t see another Avengers movie for at least another 4-5 years...but I suppose we could see the next team pop up in someone else’s movie.

I think we’ve seen the last of the Avengers films. Without the Big Three - Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Thor - audiences will be smaller, and interest from casual fans will be lower.

No way. Yeah, they’re the big three no doubt that audiences enjoy but far far lesser franchises have continued without their star cast members. Besides, Avengers rosters constantly change. And the ultimate reason why it’ll continue: $7 billion dollars at the box office (so far) from the Avengers franchise

I saw it last night with my wife and daughter (she's 12). We were all somewhat disappointed. As far as MCU movies go, it's middle of the pack for us.

My daughter's criticism were "they rushed the first part" and "the way Scott escapes the quantum realm was really stupid".

Sure there were some laughs and moments where it tugged at your heart strings, but overall, it was kinda' "meh" for us. Certainly nowhere near the hype.

Things the movie should have explained from Infinity War: why was the gauntlet so damaged when Thanos did the original snap? Why did Hulk refuse to "come out"?

I agree with your daughter about Lang escaping the quantum realm. Imagine Doc Strange’s reaction when he saw that one possibility of them winning...”We’re saved by a f***ing rat?!”

The gauntlet was destroyed due to all the stones being used at once. Just too much power. But since you and your family didn’t see that then I’d have to say yeah the MCU didn’t do a very good job of explaining it.

As for Hulk refusing to come out...I took it as he felt like he only got time “outside” when he was needed. He felt like he was being used / exploited for his brawn. If that is the reason, and I’m pretty sure it was, then it IS a lame one. And again, they didn’t explain very well what was up with that.

Final grade after two viewings: B-

The weakest of the Avengers films despite my satisfaction with Iron Man & Cap in it.

:blaze:

Oh yeah, if they made their new big three Avengers be Panther, Spidey, and Captain Marvel plus toss in Doc Strange to replace Wanda as their resident magic user, you’d certainly see box office numbers over $1 billion. Cap Marvel and Panther made over a billion on their solo films and nobody outside of comic geeks even knew who they were before that.

The gauntlet was destroyed due to all the stones being used at once. Just too much power.

When Thanos decimated the Universe, the Gauntlet was burned, but it was still functioning. He used it to escape from Thor right afterwards. He used it again on his Garden Planet, when he destroyed the Stones. When Banner used Stark's Gauntlet to bring everyone back, it was also burned but still functioning.

I thought it was very fitting that Thanos was ultimately defeated by Stark's technology. Thanos got the Stones once again, but that gauntlet wasn't made in Nidavellir. It was made by Tony Stark, and that enabled him to strip the Stones away from Thanos. :haz:

So Endgame is currently at #2, Infinity War #5, Avengers 1 is #7, and Age of Ultron #9 yet you think there won’t be another Avengers movie made?!

Bonus: Black Panther is #10

Disney is making too much money off these puppies at the box office and merchandising to stop with The Avengers movies. Here in Asia, most of the hype is done in the form of merchandise: shirts, bags, smart phone accessories, etc. I hear audience member chatter before and after shows and they don’t even know who half the characters are. Most of the jokes don’t translate very well or are so based in American pop culture or other Hollywood movies, that the punchlines go over their heads. That can’t be helped. But they still pack and sell out theaters. They’re mainly going because it’s an event. And they do that while wearing Marvel logo t-shirts and carrying Marvel logo bags.

The Russos have moved on, Downey and Evans have moved on, Hemsworth has mostly moved on (he says that he may return in the future), Johansson has moved on. The characters of Dr. Strange and Black Panther are not Avengers; they're just independent allies.

But I could be wrong. If a new film comes out, it won't be for a while, and it will probably be a lot different than its predecessors.

Enough money won’t make any of those guys move on. Evans never said he quit. There’s even a “What If?” show in development with him and Peggy Carter. Hemsworth isn’t leaving the MCU. But I never said he’d return in the next Avengers movie anyway.

MCU Doc Strange and MCU Panther aren’t official Avengers and yet they were important to Infinity War and Endgame.

Again, I’m saying if they want a sure fire way to make money, it’s to have JohnnyBlaze’s new big 3 be Panther, Spidey, and Captain Marvel. This isn’t a prediction or even a want as i don’t like MCU Captain Marvel.

And the “independent allies” comment is irrelevant as that can so easily be changed in a script. Nearly every superhero in Infinity War & Endgame has been an Avenger at one or more points.

Another thing Engame should have explained is, where did the Asgardians (the ones on Earth) come from? Sure, we as fans can come up with theories, like perhaps they had left Asgard prior to Ragnarok and gathered on Earth some time later, but Valkyrie was on the refugee ship. The same refugee ship that Thanos destroyed in Infinity War. Again, we could posit that she left the ship on some mission or other prior to it being destroyed, but it's sloppy writing to not account for those folks.

I agree. And that’s exactly what happened (as explained by the directors in Behind the Scenes type interview): Valkyrie escaped with that lame rock character and some Asgardians. Half of those escapees were snapped at the end of Infinity War. Lamest story bit of all, besides fat & drunk Thor — Thor quit as king of Asgard after all of that war, revenge, and snapping.
