Seriously maybe a child finds them underrated but I don't think anyone 25 or over will struggle to name or recognise a song amd enjoy it. They are damn famous and really...you say "goth" you think "Robert Smith". Actually a lot of my instagram followers say they are underrated. Yeah if ur a goth they might be a bit known, but there are way more bands I can name that are more known than The Cure, seriously. They are underrated trust me. I've been a fan longer than you have been alive so trust me, I know a bit more than you and your instagram followers. I feel like I can relate to some of there songs a bit, not like I did with other bands I've enjoyed. Mosher Posted January 7, 2019 Share Posted January 7, 2019 Their 70's work is excellent, and as they honed their sound in the 80's my interest waned, although they still made several good tracks throughout. I will say that Smith's time with the Banshees was a highlight- he suited them and clearly was inspired by them. After the 70's he actually said he was going for a Banshee sound. Oddly, I love Siouxsie, Steve, and Budgie's work- but the more like the Banshees they became the less I loved the Cure. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
