Won't somebody PLEASE think of the keyboards? Those poor, neglected keyboards....

Just hop on a "time machine" to the CA tour. Plenty of synths to go around there!

I def got my synth fill on the CA tour

was fun!

I do think that for the last tour, they should've rotated Between The Wheels with one PoW song and one HYF song and the VT slot going to a T4E song like Driven just to round out the catalog. I know that they played a ton of Power Windows on CA, but it was the last tour, so touching on everything would've been nice. oh well. Still the best show I've ever seen, and a stunning way to end their live career

Gosh Limelight!

I can believe it is 36 years old now. I am going to plug in my guitar to my effects board and little amp and try to relearn it !!!

Lovely arpeggios with chorus effect on guitar and great time signatures. Intro in 7/4 then 6/4 in the verse then 3/4 in the chorus then Neil plays 4/4 over Alex and Geddy playing 3/4 in the last chorus. Just wonderful. Really tricky guitar work!

As a guitar player I got a tip from a really good drummer friend of mine about playing in different meters. He said "don't try to count it otherwise you will f**k up, you just have to FEEL IT". Best advice I ever got about time signatures.

They should have represented every album.

Beginning with 3 songs of CA was not needed at every show after playing the entire album the tour before.

I would have preferred 1 song, 2 at the most from CA

If this was a career retrospective, every album should have been represented, Yes even T4E...although what song is difficult to say

My slightly modified setlist for every city, and Losing It should have been played every show, dont care if violin was taped

EVERYONE wanted to see that

Set One

Headlong Flight

Far Cry

The Main Monkey Business

One Little Victory

How It Is

Test for Echo

Cut To The Chase

Animate

Roll the Bones

Distant Early Warning

Between the Wheels

Losing It

Subdivisions

Intermission

Set Two

Tom Sawyer

Red Barchetta

YYZ

The Spirit of Radio

Natural Science

Jacob's Ladder

Circumstances

Cygnus X-1 Book Two: Hemispheres - Prelude

Cygnus X-1: Book One: The Voyage - Prologue

The Story So Far (Drum Solo)

Cygnus X-1: Book One: The Voyage - Part 3

Closer to the Heart

Xanadu

2112: I. Overture

2112: II. Temples of Syrinx

2112: IV. Presentation

2112: VII. The Grand Finale

Encore

Lakeside Park

Anthem

What You're Doing

Working Man

Garden Road (riff)

Goodness sakes that might've made me die of fandom.

I'd have missed CA and The Anarchist though, but you can't have it all. Cut To The Chase should've been played.

That's more like it,I would leave out Lakeside Park only because he had such a hard time singing it.

they could have left off closer to the heart, animate, would have loved to sing cygnus instead of just playing the instrumental.other than that,i loved the set list.

Geddy couldn't handle singing Cygnus now. It would have been awesome if he could have though.

Maybe the first singing part, but definitley not the high notes in the second part.

Including one song from each album and no skipping. I was bummed out at the loading up on new songs and totally skipping over 4 albums.

Also play the guitars that were era specific so Geddy plays the Wal for the '85-91 songs and the Fender and Rick for the others. I thought his switching to a new bass every song was silly and distracting plus some of them were butt-ugly :scared: :|

The new songs and Geddy's bass collection were highlights for me.

I went, and attended to the "Rush R40 Tour" concert in Vancouver, and to describe by naming two words, I thought it was awesome, and amazing. If I knew that it was going to be Rush's last tour before, and was to put together "Rush R40 Tour" setlist, I would have included songs from all nineteen of their compact disks, and albums, and not "Feedback". I'm not including films before the start of sets one, two, the encore, and a closing. I would've done it reverse chronological order from "Clockwork Angels" to "Rush" like how they did it, but with rotations of a few songs. The songs I would've picked are:

Set One

Headlong Flight (with Drumbastica mini drum solo)

the Main Monkey Business

How It Is (1)

Sweet Miracle (2)

Driven (Bass showcase solo)

Animate (3)

Stick It Out (4)

Dreamline

Show Don't Tell

Mission

Marathon

Distant Early Warning (5)

Between the Wheels (6)

Kid Gloves (7)

Countdown (8)

Losing It (9)

Subdivisions

Set Two

Tom Sawyer

the Camera Eye

the Spirit of Radio

Natural Science

Jacob's Ladder

Cygnus X-1 Book Two: Hemispheres - I. Prelude

Cygnus X-1: Book One: the Voyage - I. Prologue

the Story So Far (Drum Solo)

Cygnus X-1: Book One: the Voyage - Parts II, and III

Closer to the Heart

Xanadu

2112: I. Overture

2112: II. the Temples of Syrinx

2112: IV. Presentation

2112: VII. Grand Finale

Encore

Bastille Day

Anthem

Working Man

Garden Road (riff)

Given the Lakeside Park footage from R40, the entire CoS album (and Hemispheres for that matter) would be brutal with Geddy's vox. However, dropped down a few, I would kill to see Lamneth at least

That's a good setlist. Its years later and I'm still miffed about how they could do a farewell tour touching on all eras of their catalog yet deliberately skip over four albums including three in a row

I've been wanting to say, thank you, Jnoble. I picked some of the biggest hits, and concert favorites Rush fans, and who have been for a long time wanted to see, and hear in person.

Alex's excuse was that they played a ton of mid-late 80s material on the Clockwork Tour so they didn't need to revisit. Well, yes, yes they did! It was a 40th anny greatest hits our last tour ever...You're SUPPOSED to hit on all phases of your long career, not just cherry pick the ones you like the most :codger:

Not only was Alex right, they've been skipping many of the R40 tunes for years, some for decades. Can you imagine the frustration those fans have been feeling the last 25 years of their career?

Is there a pattern to the Tulsa 2015 setlist?

Like a lot of you, I wish every album had been represented. I would have done one or two songs from each of their nineteen albums (three from MP). I did like the going back in time idea, so I'd have done it like this:

Set 1

1. The Anarchist

2. Far Cry

3. Secret Touch

4. Test For Echo

5. Between Sun & Moon

6. Bravado

7. Show Don't Tell

8. Time Stand Still

9. Manhattan Project

10. Marathon

11. Distant Early Warning

12. Losing It

Break

Set 2

13. Subdivisions

14. Tom Sawyer

15. Limelight

16. YYZ

17. The Spirit of Radio

18. Freewill

19. La Villa Strangiato

20. Closer to the Heart

21. Xanadu

22. 2112 (Overture + Temples of Syrinx + Grand Finale)

Encore

23. Bastille Day

24. Anthem

25. Working Man/Garden Road

Thank you and good night!
