I just finished the second season of The Handmaids Tale. It was an infuriating final scene that left me so frustrated BUT it makes total sense why the character did what they did.

I cannot wait til season three!

Seriously...I am more excited about this show than I am of Game Of Thrones!

Of course you should be more excited about this show than Game Of Thrones. Stuff actually happens in every episode of the Handmaids Tale and they don't take forever to get to the point lol.

The last season of GOT was pretty good though. The show is really fun when the story moves along at a faster pace. I agree about the last scene in the season finale of Handmaids Tale. I get why she did that but doubt I could do the same in a situation like that.

I straight up enjoyed every GoT season. Unlike shows like The Walking Dead, I never lost a sense of excitement.

But Handmaids Tale is something else entirely. It really consumed me last week, and everything about it was so believable and we'll thought out, it gave me chills! AMAZING acting. Aunt Lydia is an amazing character. June and Serena too. A rare show where everything that happens MEANS something. No filler.

I am reading the book. Outstanding too (season one ends where the books main narrative concludes. Season 2 is essentially a sequel to both the first season and the book).

this show forking rocks

I need to catch up. I’m on episode 3 of season 2 on Netflix.

Yeah, I've gotta finish up season two as well. For some reason I stopped watching it. Probably got caught up in some other show which sometimes happens. I know season three is starting up soon.

The Lad and I were stoked to see the full season 2 come out on Netflix. We've watched a couple so far, with plenty of lolz.

Love the show. One of my favorite bits is "bad Janet's" attempt to describe Rocky Road ice cream:

"It contains chocolate ribbon, marshmallow . . . and your dad's salty nuts, you fat DINK!"

Season premiere is great. I love that the theme of the series is so out there that anything is possible in it. There really is nothing they can't do.

I got to the bit when Tehani came in but I just zonked out.

The Good Place looked really shit when I first saw an advert but one morning I was bored and started it. By the end of the night season one was complete...I restarted it before bed with my partner...by the end of the next day we had both completed it and that week season two arrived (fantastic coincidence!). Yeah...amazing writing and one of the most PERFECT casts I have ever seen!!

Another show we love is Santa Clarita Diet. These two shows are right now my favourite ongoing comedies. Both rival the likes of 30 Rock or Friends for me and I've seen both shows two seasons twice!

Dark shadows on amazon

Old school vampire soap opera????

We used to watch this in the dark as kids.

Nice. I dont recall the show but do like it thus far. The music is a bonus on top of the old school creature feature vibe.

Seriously.

No else has the constitution to check out paradie pd on netflix?

Didn't even know of this show. How dare you question my constitution lol.

Well third time is the charm!

If you can survive the first episode it mellows out a bit. But not much.

A seriously offensive yet incredibly funny cartoon. I thinks its the same animators that did the regular show.

The movies are charming but not really aging well for me. The books are still fantastic!

I have the same problem with these movies as The Lord of The Rings and Hobbit movies. The LoTR was almost a total reWrite of the Original books, and the stuff left out was BETTER then the stuff the writers came up with to replace it. J.R.R. Tolkien was phenominal in writing all this work, I've read ALL the major works, and own most of it. I grew up about ten years after TV was first on the scene, and so VIDEO is the way I take this stuff in, my best way to learn how to do stuff, etc.

I've read the books and I have to say, I wouldn't change anything about the movies. I love fantasy but I don't think Tolkien is the greatest. His world is amazing but his books were for me emotionally stunted.

Congrats on getting through the books, Not many people I know have done that. I LOVED the books. Covered a LOT of ground, and I think you have to have to be able to look at implied content as well.

Guess I had the wherewithall to do that with Tolkien's writing in his books...

Started on this show last night. Very funny and I must be numb from years of watching South Park and Family Guy but there's nothing here I find offensive. If somebody is offended by a cartoon then they've got some serious issues anyways.
