worst rush song ever released

I really like Red Tide. It's in definitely one of my 5 favourite songs from Presto. I think it is all synthesizers, no actual horns were harmed in the making of this song.

If I am going to nominate a song, I guess I would go with Here Again. I already am not a fan of blues and this song is long and slow and such drudgery, but that whole album is sort of proto-RUSH so it doesn't matter as much.

Probably Heresy, since it's the one from the overtly forgettable Roll The Bones that's so lightweight I can't remember a single hook off the top of my head. At least You Bet Your Life is catchy (maddeningly so actually). They both suck, but one already practically doesn't exist, and that one is Heresy.

QUOTE (rickyrob @ Sep 6 2007, 07:39 AM) Virtuality and the very worst...

Carve Away the Stone 062802puke_prv.gif

I'm a little puzzled by some of the above posts wacko.gif

hello rickyrob,

I'm suprised that you think those songs are the worst you've heard. wink.gif

butt in the beginning I had also problems with the test for echo album,

I just could find the feeling for it...

but after a while I tried again and then I got the feeling...just like that.

maybe you still have found it it yet. cool.gif

but no hard feeling, every person can't be the same... grtz 2.gif

Same for me! it's not my favorite album but I don't hate any songs on it. I love Carve Away The Stone!

First time I listened to Dog Years I bursted out laughing at the absurd lyrics. Ridiculous.

I believe that was the intent. That this seems to be lost on so many..

It's pretty bad but i don't hate it. The Chorus just sends it down the shithole

I will go along with Speed of Love. Wow, would make a really good Michael Bolton song with that title.

Also, Second Nature. Don't really like the melody, tempo, etc. Just doesn't appeal to me.

And I am shocked that no one has mentioned Between Sun And Moon.

"Ah yes to yes to ah to yes" (what the hell is that?)

"Why the sun? Why the sun?" (why this song?)

There are a handful of Rush songs I would classify as "cheesy" and these are among them.

Yes, I think I would rather listen to Rivendell than any of these songs.

And you know what, I think it's ok to have these discussions. I still love Rush regardless but some of these songs.....eesh!

Listen to the Rio live version of Between Sun and Moon.

It will blow you away, as it did for me.

In a vast career i can make a pretty good list.

Tai Shan

High Water

Superconductor

Face up

Countdown

By-Tor

Which Hunt

Cygnus book 1 and I

Red Lenses

Speed of Love

Double agent

Nobody's Hero

Bu2b

Caravan

Carnies

Seven Cities of Gold

And all of T4E except Resist. Also all of VT. T4E and VT are the lowest of lows

Mick

Holy crap

That's a lot...

Tai Shan is pretty bad

I like High Water

LOVE Superconductor

Face Up is pretty good

Countdown is great

I don't really like By Tor

Witch Hunt is great

Cygnus 1 and 2 are amazing

Red Lenses is awesome, that bass line especially!

Speed of love would get a 3/10

Double Agent is demented but so goooood

I love Nobody's Hero

Bu2B is eh, uh, oh...

Same with the last three.

Test for Echo is an album that takes a while to adapt to and I can understand where you are coming from. Resist is awesome, a beautiful tune, but so are many others on there!

VT is the same way with the adapted sound. I hated the whole thing for a few years but now I only dislike a few songs on it.

You should give these two albums another try and let it sync in, you won't regret it! I can guarantee that a lot of us have been through the same thing.

Heresy is the first Rush song I didn't like, and mostly because of the lyrics.

Nobody's Hero is an embarrassing cringefest of ham handed, awkward lyrics...

A festival of shit served warm between two slices of rancid cabbage.

Half the World

Lyrics that could have been written by a fourth grader combined with dull music.

It's a cute little pop song. Not everything has to sound like natural science. And Rush knows this. Who gives a shit if the lyrics are a bit pedestrian? It's a catchy tune.

Maybe you should take a cue from the boys and lighten up a bit.

If I appreciated dullness and mediocrity, you'd have at least 4123 likes.

I'm 3 years too late on the brutality.

Jeez, I'm getting to the point that I have to review a thread to see if I already responded years ago

I did on this on in 2014, and things haven't changed.

Virtuality.
