Hawks sign Henri Jokiharju to a three year contract. Is this the right time to end this thread? ;)

Fine by me, but who will start the 2018-19 thread?

Since TSS may need medical attention for quite some time yet, maybe I should, a well known hockey freak. :gumby:

I think TSS should start it. No question.

I've been away, what did I miss? I guess somebody won the cup or something? :P

In other news, the Sens continue to implode...yes, even off the ice!

Two of my daughter's photos from the Caps parade yesterday. She and her fiancee only had to get to the street at 5:30 AM to get this close! I'm glad they could go- there's nothing like the first time your team wins it all!

I am happy for your daughter that she could enjoy the revelling of all out celebration! I have been to 2 pro sports championship parades. That was like a million years ago when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl 37. Then again when my Lightning hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2004 Those good memories are life long! I hope to be able attend another one especially for me Bolts!

Let's GO Lightning!!!

It hasn't been officially announced yet, but the Isles just landed Barry Trotz as their next head coach.

I just heard that tonight. It should be a fun next couple of years for your team!

My hubby is counting down the days until college football starts, I can't get interested in it until September. Anyone watch the NHL awards the other night? Thought it was well done with bringing some of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas players, the Humbolt Broncos and first responders from Vegas to take part in announcing the awards. Even Scott Foster (the emergency goaltender who helped Chicago win a game after the other two goalies went out with injuries) was there to announce the winner of the Vezina trophy. :D :ebert:

I didn't watch but I do know Tampa's defensemen Victor Herman won the Norris Trophy :yay:

Wow that's a blast from the past...He played here in Utah for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles (4 seasons 77/78, 80/81, 83/84, 85/86). Cleveland Barons were our parent club for a time so he moved up from here. Wow, that brings back memories...we saw a lot of great players that went up to the majors:

Theo Fleury helped us win the Turner Cup for the IHL in 1987. We were the farm club for Calgary then and he went on to help them win the Stanley Cup, we also had Mike Vernon in goal before he left. Lots of other famous players played against us: Curtis Joseph, Mike Richter. Claude Julien and Alain Vineault played on our team together... Many more I can't recall but it was a lot of fun watching players go up to the NHL and do well. :sigh: :codger: those were the good old days. :hockeygoon:
