Not in the poll, but it sneaks under the bar in 1989... one of my favorite video games ever:

Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road

My dad was on a bowling league, and he used to take me along, and give me five bucks to play in the arcade as he bowled... I learned this game inside and out... to the point where I would take whatever money he gave me, and see how little of it I could spend over the course of a night, by continuously finishing in the top-2 to get another free play. I got so good, I could play a few hours on just a dollar.

My favorite from the list is Star Wars, but Gauntlet cost me the most quarters.

I always wished I'd given SW a go in the arcade but never had the opportunity.

Hey, any of you guys remember one called Mr. Do? It was kind of a Dig Dug knockoff only your clown / guy / whatever had a projectile to toss around.

If there was ever a better game to spend endless amounts of quarters on just to beat a high score, it's Galaga. You know I'm right.

^^^ I don't remember playing Tempest, it gets mentioned quite a bit.

because of the Subdivisions video I'm guessing

I went to a high school across the street from a mall. Had just enough time on lunch break to finish 'Wonderboy'.

On this list 'Joust'. It was awesome once I learned a valuable trick in the game

Thing is with Galaga could never get past a certain point, frustrating, always played it when possible though.
