Foo Fighters is another. i've been unfair to them. they need to be tried again. i've only really heard a couple albums.

Mick

Despite their rather consistent sound, the actual quality of their albums has a surprising degree of variety. Which ones did you hear?

Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and Wasting Light. I quite liked Echoes....actually.

I actually haven't heard Echoes, lol, but from what I've heard about it, you might enjoy There Is Nothing Left To Lose.

Foo Fighters also

Best gig I've ever been too...they fall flat for me on record with a couple of very likeable exceptions.

A great example of a band whose songs I’ve heard I like, but would never choose to listen to.

In light of the recent loss, I'd like to further explore Pantera as I only know Vulgar Display. They had a huge influence on bands I love, like Machine Head or Trivium. I feel it's a good time.

Prince. My wife got me to listen to some of his stuff not too long ago. I unfairly dismissed him as cheap pop trash during high school.

Controversy is my personal favorite. I’ve mostly listened to all his 80s albums on repeatedly sans Batman and have listened to Diamonds And Pearls a lot as well. I’ve got 1999 and ATWIAD on vinyl this far.

I need to get into Stevie Wonder considering he started at a young age and has as many albums Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Listened to a few of his albums on streaming once. I really dug Songs In The Key Of Life the first listen.

Far Beyond Driven is my personal favorite. It has their cover of Planet Caravan by Sabbath.

I’m guessing One By One, right? Foos have disowned it. The original demos of some of those songs blow the album out of the water especially with Lonely As You.

Mick mentioned Echoes which I find to be their most underrated. Stranger Things Have Happened may be their best ballad ever.

My Foos rankings, if we're on the subject:

Wasting Light

The Color And The Shape

Concrete And Gold

Sonic Highways

There Is Nothing Left To Lose

In Your Honor

the rest I haven't heard enough to be relatively sure.

Ghost, Lacuna Coil, Aerosmith

Of all those, Aerosmith sounds the most urgent. Not saying they're the best there, but you haven't really heard rock and roll till you've listened to Aerosmith.

check out Get Your Wings, Toys In The Attic, and Rocks, then Permanent Vacation and Pump if you want to know their 80s side.

Have you talked with Segue Myles on this board yet? Lacuna Coil is his favorite band. He can certainly help you out with them. I would say give the albums Comalies and Broken Crown Halo a listen if you haven't already. Knowing Segue he will tell you to try something completely different from them lol.

As for Ghost, I would go with Meliora.

I still have a love/hate relationship with Karmacode. I hated the musical direction they took with it but damn those songs rock hard live. I've grown kinder to the album over the years though.

that album caught me off guard too. i kinda hated/still not thrilled with the whole middle eastern flavor of her vocals. i dunno......i have to be in a very specific mood or the album pisses me off, lol

Prince. My wife got me to listen to some of his stuff not too long ago. I unfairly dismissed him as cheap pop trash during high school.

Sign O' The Times is killer. I like his glyph album as well.

Sign O' The Times is good, but Purple Rain blew my mind. I don't know much Prince myself, but I'd say if you want to get into him that one's a surefire start.
