Entre_Perpetuo
AIC, and not even that close for meThe most consistent, for sure. and IMO they had the best vocalist. just me. Mick Jerry Cantrell's a fair singer, but Krist Novesellic's rendition of "Get Together" on Nevermind is transcendent. ;)

blueschica
I voted Pearl Jam, with STP close behind. I always thought Scott Weiland was really talented and enjoyed his vocals; RIP. :(
LedRush
AIC, and not even that close for meThe most consistent, for sure. If we're going to talk consistency of the first 5 albums of a band (I'm counting Facelift as the first album and SAP and Jar of Flies (by far their most consistent album) as albums: I rank the bands's consistency as this:Smashing Pumpkins Pearl Jam AiC STPNirvana (tough to judge with one piece of shit, one stone cold classic, and one excellent rock record) Soundgarden

Segue Myles
Pearl Jam. Ten is the best album of the early nineties and Eddie Vedder is hands down my favourite vocalist of all these bands.

HemiBeers
Soundgarden although I'd listen to any of these on a given day. Check that, Nirvana...one of the most overrated bands ever. There I said it.

Nirvana packed alot more than a Pixies influence into their albums. To Cobain's credit he was very humble and gave credit to all his influences.
Wil1972
Pearl Jam is the new AC/DC... everything sounds the same. Easily the worst of the lot. Nirvana might be "overrated" but they had good stuff. I never got into STP.

Side 1 is too overplayed and overrated (seriously, they're pretty much just some catchy pop punk tunes with an edge). If you don't live under a rock, listen to Drain You and Something In The Way, then you don't really need to hear the album in full. And really you could drop Drain You. Nothing wrong, but not as special as Rolling Stone would have folks believe.
