I'm terribly sorry, I thought he was The Professor, it says that. You realize I've had no experience with forums for over a decade, have recently restored much of my health, and am now moving foreward. It's all unfamiliar. .

No wonder HemiBeers took a tone. I am sorry Sir. All this time I've been mis-naming, he would probably think it was intentional.

Actually, I saw the happy Professor guy on his avatar thingie page, and liked him, and thought he was The Professor.

HemiBeers, I can't drink beer any more, but I do like your name and do apologize for misunderstanding the handles.

how many others have I miss-named? Awful. Sorry to any and all.

Now I get it. "The Professor" is just a post level rank in HemiBeers' case (click HERE for more info about post levels). Eventually that rank gets replaced with a sort of nickname (like "73" for me). Notice where your name "munk" is located above your posts. That's your actual screen name, and it's in the same place for everyone.

Also, learning how to quote other people's posts is a good way to reply to them, so they know you're talking to them, like I'm doing with you here. If there's a post you want to respond to, instead of going to the Fast Reply box at the bottom of the page, or the Reply to this Topic button at the top, hit the "Quote" button in the bottom right corner of the post you want to reply to. It will put the post you're replying to inside your post, like you see here.

"Montana"... they like conspiracies and doing what the f%^$ they want. A lot of Trumplandia.

When you have that much open land and a small population (and perhaps the most beautiful state in the U.S), I would want to do whatever I want too.

Your links seriously suggest, and I mean seriously, the opposite. So I'm sitting here, thinking, do I really have to take on every issue thrown my way because I dared to bring up Gibson's troubles?

What else am I responsible for? Peace in the Middle East?

You're the one that brought it up, as some sort of evidence that those things happen and/or are common place tactics for the US government. I merely presented an alternative view to yours.

Dear stoopid,

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRS_targeting_controversy

From your own links; wikipedia gives the overview of IRS targeting conservative groups.

Don't fully understand what nerve I've touched here, but stoopid, you've written well and been above board.

Are you certain your skills are best used in music? Well, regardless of the medium, you've been deft.

Governmental abuse does occur, all the time. Tried tracking Gibson's sales to see if I could see a correlation between the Raid and decline.

As you know, they had been on a long decline. No way for me to know, and that seemed to be the emphasis for the market community.

Again, to all, my sincere apologies if I've misaddressed anyone.

"So Sad About Us"

Love,

Pete Townshend

Hey goose.

I have a Townshend SG Gibson.

Sheraton Gibson

It's up to you Earl, you need to empty your bank account tonight and buy a couple of warehouses full of Les Pauls, Explorers, Flying Vs and SGs! And yes you can donate a few to me if you like. It's time to swoop in and save Gibson...before it's too late!

Welp, it's happening now....

https://www.wsj.com/...ptcy-1525177170

I couldn;t access the full article, but this is definitely not the beginning of the end .. In fact, according to some, just the opposite:

Gibson's guitar-making future

Gibson also makes banjos and mandolins and pianos through its Baldwin subsidiary. Guitars are the most identifiable product, however, and Gibson will continue to make them under the bankruptcy restructuring plan.

In fact, Josh Friedman, a senior legal analyst at Debtwire, told
newspaper in Nashville that the Chapter 11 reorganization is actually a good sign.

“For people who are worried about whether there will still be Gibson guitars, this is a good sign,” Friedman said. “When you have investors willing to invest additional funds and take over control, in contrast to the flipside, you could look at a liquidation instead of a reorganization.”

yes, larger companies are more viable survivors of Bankruptcy. But there will be major changes. I wouldn't be surprised if certain model lines that weren't doing well got eliminated...firebirds perhaps (just an example...I'm not sure how well Firebirds are selling). The Les Paul, SG and Flying V are iconic models and the Firebird has always been kind of a dog to me personally. Bottom line...they got to get back to what makes them profit.
