It was a nice break from basketball to watch the Pens-Flyers game today. It was on NBC so got to hear Doc Emrick call the game! Pens continued their dominance over the Flyers this season, beating them again, and again with 5 goals as each of the previous games have had. :). Pens 5, Flyers 4 in OT. Final goal was amazing because Rust put his stick down in front of the net just in time to deflect Crosby's shot off the blade and into the goal. Now Pens are 2 pts. above the Flyers and Blue Jackets and only 3 behind the Caps as the playoffs approach. Go Pens!

I don't know why they will even bother to finish the season. Just give the Pens the cup and be done with it.

No one is beating them in a playoff series.

Bump.

Well tonight is the night for all of us Tampanians & Lightning fans scattered near & far. I can tell you on this Tampa is a city that is bristleing with the energy of anticipation of playoff hockey. Some very interesting game last night. It it appears the Refs are going to let the players play!:hockey: I am confident my Sticks of Fire are going to come to play as well. My only concern is if they may have got too much rest and will be sluggish. This was a problem during the reg. season. The Devils are a very fast team with a solid defence. However they do lack playoff experience as I believe only a very few players remain on their team that were in the playoffs in 2012. I am looking forward to being in a packed house to cheer my Bolts on to victory.

Lets GO Lightning!!!

Enjoyed watching Winnipeg rocking the house last night. Crazy crowd! Loud and proud!

And cool to see Vegas win their first play-off game. That knight helmet they skate thru is kinda lame tho; you'd've thought they'd 'Vegas' it up a bit for the playoffs. Add some lights or a laser tiger or Cher or something!

5 games tonight! I enjoy pigging out on hockey this time of year.

That Arnold the Pig should've been for Elliott in the Flyers game. ;)

Did the rest of the playoff teams just let out a very audible "UH-OH"!! when they saw that Pens-Flyers score :)

If they did they are idiots. The writing has been on the wall for quite a while.

Boston 5 Toronto 1 ( UH-OH ) :madra:

Don't coronate the Pens just yet..there is a lot of hockey to play. Nashville looked deadly last night and the Bruins and the Bolts are on their game. I am loving Vegas and will be pulling for them, wish the Avs could go farther but I am glad they made the playoffs (have a soft spot for them since they were my Mom's team..wish she was here to see them :sigh: ) This is my favorite time of year, love hockey :hockeygoon:

I forgot to add how sweet Panarin's goal was for the Blue Jackets :dweez: (still wondering why Chicago let him go... :smash: ) The Sharks made short work of the Ducks....there are so many games, getting whiplash changing channels back and forth... :D

I was pretty nervous until late to be honest. The Bruins got a few lucky bounces. They haven't played well against Toronto this year either. Still, I'm happy with game 1.

Best post season in sports. Period.

I am still elated over last nights 5-2 victory over the devils of NJ. I can tell you Amalie Arena was the loudest I have ever heard!! The atmosphere was electric. I realize it's only game one and lots & lots of NHL playoff hockey yet to play. But if the same Tampa team that showed up last night keeps showing up, y'all better watch out! ;) I will be at tomorrow's 3pm game with one of the biggest (little) Bolts fan, my 9 year old Granddaughter :D. She loves her hockey and if the stands are as electric as they were last night she's in for a real treat

Let's GO Lightning!!!

Effing DirecTV blocked the Bolts v Devils on our hookup at home, and I see Avs v Preds also starts at 3 EDT. Guess I'm hitting a bar this afternoon.

Talk about heart failure...The Knights and the Kings gave me fits last night :scared: :eh: Quick is one heck of a goalie, bet he was exhausted after that marathon..Avs gave it a go today and kept it close, those kids just dont quit. Bolts made short work of the Devils but something tells me that it may be different in Jersey next week..we'll see. Looking forward to Jackets and Caps tomorrow and will probably catch some of the two games tonight...hope the Leafs and Sharks can win one.

Edit: Took no chances and hit a bar that's attached to an ice arena. The place has windows along the length of the rink on the side with the sin bins. Most of the screens were showing both games next to each other, with a couple of orphans showing the NBA first round. Killer 24 tap draft line and a bottle list that was no joke either. The usual bar food suspects. Cold brews, good food and a Lightning win, couldn't have been better. It could get dicey in here later in the series as the place allegedly is a Pens fan hangout.
