2018 MLB Season Thread

On Reddit's r/baseball they've started a roast thread dedicated to a different team each day, today they're on day 7 with the Blue Jays. Some of them have been absolutely brutal, but here's a couple favorites from today's Jays roast:

The Jays greatest victory this season was besting all 29 other teams at .500 Is Lava

It's only fitting that their commentator Gregg Zaun was fired for sexual harassment, since the rest of the Jay's can't get to third base.

Is it ok for me to laugh at this?

Brewers are undefeated! ;) ;)

Yet another low-scoring affair in San Diego. Chase Anderson was strong for 6 innings. Lorenzo Cain had three hits!

Giancarlo is on pace for 320 home runs this year.

He's on pace to finish 162 behind Tommy Davidson

Horrible day for the Dodgers. Not only did they lose, but Kershaw's on pace to throw over 1100 innings. No way his arm can hold up to that!

Not too good tonight, either so far. Cueto has a perfect game after 6 innings . . . but scoreless. Giants have to get him a run!

Shocking News: Ryan Braun DELIVERS. A clutch 3-run homer in the 9th on an 0-2 pitch! 5 RBI's for the game!

Brewers 8

Padres 6

:haz: :haz:

Trout finally got off the schneid but my Halos pitching is -a work in progress/sketchy- pick one.

The Blue Jays couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a scoop shovel full of wheat. Not my team anyways.

And they did. The Dodgers are 0-2. The fortunate news for them is that Kershaw's workload projects to a more manageable 500 innings.

Brewers v. Cardinals last night made Baseball History. First game to begin AND end with back-to-back home runs.

The Cardinals led off with Fowler and Pham going deep against Chase Anderson. In the Bottom of the 9th, with TWO out, the Brewers got payback with Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun hitting game-tying and winning homers. The crowd went NUTS!! :haz: :haz:

And I missed it! I had no faith in my team! :rage: :rage: SHAME on me......

Never say never...the Cubs trailed the Braves 10-2 and fought back to win, 14-10. Largest comeback victory I've ever witnessed, period. This includes a matchup between the Cubs and the Astros, back when Rick Sutcliffe was on the hill for the Cubs. After falling behind 8-2, the Cubs rallied for seven unanswered runs to clip the Stros, 9-8.

When I was a kid, I was in the stands as the Reds came back against the Pirates. They were down 8-1 in the bottom of the 9th, but roared back with hit after hit. The crowd was loud, louder and loudest!

Down 8-7, with bases loaded and 2 out, the Reds' big slugger Lee May came up and crushed a deep fly to dead center, where the outfielder caught the ball right at the fence.

Pirates win 8-7. :rage: :rage:

23 games postponed so far. Jays/Royals ppd due to ice from the CN Tower puncturing the Rogers Center roof today. Bruins/Leafs are on anyways ... reminds me, I need to buy some sunflower seeds for good baseball karma and spring yard chore days. Angels/Red Sox tomorrow!

:o :o :o Yes, I'm so finished with this weather! I have a large project I need to spray paint and I haven't been able to do it for 3 weeks! We had ONE nice day Saturday but we were out of town! Just going to check on the Pirates home game now; wouldn't be surprised if it is postponed as well.

Not postponed, but it was snowing.

The most representative event of the season so far is that a game in a domed stadium-in Toronto-was cancelled when ice falling from the CN Tower damaged the roof of the Rogers Centre.

Bottom o' 9th, game tied 5-5. The Brewers' excellent pinch-hitter Jesus Aguilar gets down 0-2, then battles back via SEVEN foul balls....

Pitch #13...... BOOM! Walk-off homer to right-center! :notworthy: :notworthy:
