It's for bending PE parts accurately and kinda quickly! used it for the first time on the He 219 A-0 for the interior of the cockpit Starboard side panel! tis is TOO COOL!Here are the correct in focus pictures! They find a surviving aircraft, and study and photograph what they can. With the He 219 A-2 at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. First, a photo from the actual Aircraft's User Manual of the Hoods used by the Radar operator to view what the antenna display as aircraft that need to be shot down.1st hood is for the FuG 212 radar scope, and the one to the right is for the FuG 220 radar scope. Closer pic of the ONLY hood found in the He 219 A2, is here. Both lenses at the bottom of this hood are mounted to view the FuG 220 radar. Here is MY renditions of these two parts. OldRUSHfan Posted February 28, 2018 Author Share Posted February 28, 2018 Today's work.After all the wait and steps for the engines, the Cockpit flight deck was fairly quick to assemble.The cockpit area from the front. notice the gun actuator, the golden button on the joystick.Steps to clean and care for the brushes. 1. soak in Vallejo Brush Restorer, Dry brush, reuse.Drying the brushes. They are ready to reuse. of course, I always clean them with water, to remove most of the paint first. Those little metal dishes you see in some of these pix in this thread are really cool in this usage with Acrylic paint. OldRUSHfan Posted March 21, 2018 Author Share Posted March 21, 2018 (edited) The next section, the fuselage behind the cockpit is now together with some of the bulkheads in place. more has to be 'stuffed' in, including the Schräge Musik oblique angle forward firing twin cannons, and a couple more bulkheads.It is sitting upside down at this point. waiting for Black metalic paint to arrive to paint the cannons. One of the colors I missed when ordering the paints, I believe these guys at Zoukei-Mura more than the people who have made other models I've made because I've found the color editors there didn't always do their work too well! Zoukei-Mura folks actually study actual Aircraft from the original makers. and take a LOT of pics! After the Schräge Musik comed the fuselage bottom. I've made 'snap tite' models, but long after the glue and paint mode started. it was cheap, price wise, and the type caught my eye. It was about HO slot car size...It was a Chevy Corvette from the early '70s....tried to use it with my HO Aurora Thunderjet chassis, but it wasn't a fit. it was a dark tan color...Thanks for the memories...Matter of fact, I have a model of one of the space shuttles..Columbia, I think...lol 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
