Let's put this to bed right now.

Early 2018 on the Rush Forum has seen a lot of BRITISH METAL TYPE!!!

Most love Maiden. Most love Priest! Some really love SAXON like me!!!!

Let's face it. Ghost blew Iron Maiden away last year on tour. I am sure many of you will argue that. But for me Bruce sounded and looked like a homeless BUM! He was bloody awful.

I saw SAXON last year. They opened for another great band that is shite now. UFO. SAXON blew UFO off the stage.

So now kids SAXON is opening up for JUDAS PRIEST!

It's going to be EPIC!!!!

But!!!!

Thanks to our very own rock star interviewer and amazing prog metal head Rod he has put Iron Maiden above these other two bands.

So let's truly see where these three TITANIC METAL BANDS RANK!

I'm fuckking confused man because it's hard but it has to be JUDAS PRIEST for me!

I like Saxon and Maiden a lot, I've got all their albums, studio albums anyway, but PRIEST are the choice without even thinking about it.

You and I have the same mum!

I too love Maiden and Saxon but PRIEST WILL ALWAYS RULE THE GALAXY OF METAL!

Rob Halford has the greatest voice in all MUSIC.

Yep!

Rob even blows Freddie Mercury away!

I thought you were mad at Priest Earl because of Turbogrow!

I voted for the band that never...EVER released a pop tune. When the other choices in this poll were scrapping the bottom of the barrel and covering Johnny B Goode or "Riding Like the Wind", Maiden were doing a metal concept album with icebergs on stage.

You say no, I say yes...Up the Irons!!!!

Iron Maiden

And I won't deny it, I might not be familiar with all of Judas Priests studio work, but I am Maiden, and Maiden haven't done anything to match the badness of Breaking The Law or the entire Nostradamus album.

Priest! I was way more of a Maiden fan growing up, but these days I greatly prefer Priest. There's just a directness and attitude with them that I respond to more. That's why the first two Maiden albums are my favorite now too.

Saxon is a titan?

Nope.

But they made a nice career out of doing average versions of Priest riffs.

I like them a lot, but they're just not on the same league as Priest and Maiden.

While Priest have done some stuff worthy of criticism like most of Point Of Entry and Turbo. Maiden hasn't had a flawless discography either as the 90s were not a good time for them creatively. Also, Riding On The Wind is a good little rocker.

I don't see why Maiden being able to draw 300,000 people to some festivals automatically makes them the better band. It's musical quality we're judging them by not how many people they can draw. We all know of bad bands who fill arenas and great ones that can't even get 50 people through the door.

That being said I did vote for Maiden. Always enjoyed them a little bit more than Priest.

1.Iron Maiden - based mostly on their 80's discography (all albums are really strong)

2.Judas Priest - based on their 70's discography (minus the debut) plus Painkiller, 80's Priest is a bit commercial-sounding and overrated to me

3.Saxon - they were very good, but they just don't have that remarkable discography as classic-era Priest or Maiden (that being said Denim & Leather, Wheels of Steel and Strong Arm of Law are killer heavy metal records in one row)

Priest's Achilles heel might be campiness, whereas Maiden's weakness for me is pseudo-intellectual pretense. I'll take Killers as the top album from both bands' catalogues, but Priest's top songs create a stronger playlist.

Tough call, so I'll let the people vote.. All those for Maiden raise your hands...

The first 3 Maiden albums are my favorites out of anything from these three bands, but the long haul goes to Priest ..

I voted Maiden based on three albums .

I saw Saxon open for Rush on the second leg of the Permanent Waves tour - Sept 25, 1980 - the day John Bonham died ... and even though I was very impressionable, and Saxon left zero impression .. They were the epitome of average

To British rock and metal fans Saxon is a titan for sure. In the USA they have never made it big.

You took the words right out of my mouth! BOOM!

This!

Glad I was a Heavy Metal Kid in the early 80's! SAXON RULES!

Again, I saw SAXON last year in a small club. They opened for UFO. SAXON blew the drugged up boozed Phil Moog off the stage. Vinnie Moore? Guy sucks playing the UFO classics. My buddies and I left during "Rock Bottom" because Vinnie was just going to botch that incredible solo.

SAXON IS A TITAN OF METAL!

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!

GOOD! STOP PRESSING COMPACT DISCS!!!!

EUROPE AND JAPAN WILL NEVER STOP!!!!!!!!
