Clockwork Angels beats almost any album, but it kicks the living crap outta that PoS.

Wow.

But I respect your opinion, CoS from what I've gathered divides opinion like few other Rush albums.

Regardless of this forum, CA gets a lot of positive reactions from the media, so to the best of my knowledge the disdain towards it is in the minority. Which is nice for the band.

The problem with CA is the production. It's loud and brickwalled, which I understand is a turnoff for a lot of people. But the material on it is just fantastic.

Now, Caress of Steel has a whole plethora of issues. I'd pick any album over it. I do love Bastille Day, but one song does not an album make.

Worst post ever.

Come on, LR...are you going to deny ever having been in SOCN?

This is a travesty. CoS is top 5

A smidge outside of my top 5, 6th in fact, but now higher than Presto or GUP!

I'll say something that may well get me cyber-lynched...but I think a song like Between the Wheels is just as heavy as is The Necromancer. Both thematically and sonically. Yes. I said it!

I don't really feel that either song is heavy in a sonic sense. Topically BtW is heavier than necromancer since it's about real shit. Necromancer is fantasy

CoS has the wonderful Bastille Day and Lakeside Park plus the ok I Think I'm Going Bald. The other 2 songs on the album I strongly dislike.

CA starts slow and most of the album is "brick walled". The recording is better than the original mix for VT but it could be greatly improved.

Than with the wonderful Halo Effect the album takes off. On good song after another. Halo Effect, 7 Cities of Gold, The Wreckers, Headlong Flight, Wish Them Well, The Garden.

Despite the recording issues and the slow start (i.e. some songs at the start that are, at best, sort of ok) CA gets my vote easily.
