Over the weekend I uncovered a bunch of old photo albums which brought back a flood of memories .. When I was a kid, I always seemed to have some toy, bicycle or contraption in pics ..

Anyone remember the Colorforms Aliens ?? .. Seems I even took Xodiac outside in the snow

ORFie, JB ???

What else do you remember ??

I vaguely remember those. Didn’t have any though.

The Micronauts figures were pretty cool. And the original G.I. Joe figures from the ‘60s.

My favorites were the Marvel superhero Mego dolls though. Of course!

I've never seen those before, but I recognize a bootleg Metaluna mutant when I see one. Looking at you, Orbitron! Now I want one.

The KISS comic book colored with real blood!

Thundershift 500 - best goddamned toy ever

Mecanno and Lego

What does it say about me that I remember more of the toys I had than the people I went to school with?

And Super Toe

You'd "press" ( yeah right ) down on his helmet and he'd kick the plastic ball

We'd set him up in the next room and slam our fist down on his helmet ... The best was when the dinner table was full of adults, trying to fire that hard plastic football on to the table from a room away

ORFie, that 3 level station is great ... I love that

I'm looking at pics of it now

In the 70s, there was a store called The Wisteria House .. It was more of a gift shop than toy store, but they had a locked glass display of Corgi cars ..

The women who worked there were like the women in Suspiria, but a bit nicer

Anyways, you'd have to tell them which car you wanted, and they;d come over with keys and unlock the drawers below and find the car in its box ..

I loved that store ... I still have a bunch of these

I had Spider-Man and Aquaman.

I had Spidey, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America. My neighborhood pal had Batman, Robin, and Superman. I’d go over to his house and have my Marvel Mego dolls put the smack down on his DC dolls.

Toys back then look waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more different then they do now!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, they were better!

In the 90s there were retro toys/figures made as homages to the 60s & 70s versions.

But in 2018 I don’t think I’ve seen any toys/figures made as homages to those made in the 90s.

These guys were the bomb. Real hair, dog tags, authentic snap-closure uniforms with grade-A plastic military boots.

My buddy's older brother had a big collection that we used to play with, but, being poor, I never got my own GI Joe. Later when Mattel's Fighting Furies came out, I got the Whip as a gift from the lady across the street. I was stoked!
