Justice League

I just watched Justice League. It's not good, but it's not bad. It's more entertaining then Batman v Superman, but still an absolute mess story wise. Marvel is simply in DC's head. [5/10]

If they make another Justice League film, with Darkseid as the Supervillain, you have to wonder why they even bothered to make this one. Steppenwolf was one of the lamest supervillains I've ever seen.

The JL sequel will start filming after the solo Batman is completed. And that hasn’t started yet. AND they’ve gone back and forth about the script...there currently isn’t one yet...but there had been one...yet they’re supposed to start shooting next year. Cavill has one movie left on his contract though so there’s that.

DC movies have no vision. It’s as if they’re just reacting to what Marvel does. And poorly.

Steppenwolf was a generic threat with really bad CGI.

I like the actors. They really, really tried to make Justice League work. Plus some decent action sequences. Batman's intro was fantastic.

Which is really messed up because they had a $300 million budget to at least make it look good.

After reading so many bad reviews, I finally watched it last night, and didn´t think it was too bad...just not that memorable. Miles better than Batman vs Superman as others have been saying, and I had a feeling that DC knew more what they were doing here, as opposed to Suicide Squad, and to some extent, Wonder Woman. I think the majority of us WANT those movies to succeed, but they´re just not quite there yet. Maybe in the new Batman and in the Justice League sequel things will take a turn for the best...

I agree. But I found myself enjoying it much more than I thought I would. Perhaps because of the nostalgia of getting up early every Saturday morning when I was a kid to see this:

I liked TJL for what it's worth. It' no Avengers, but I'll take it. I'm disappointed there won't be a second one and they cut out all of Snyder's footage with Darkseid or anything intimating a sequel.

I thought the sequel is just put on the back burner for now due to disappointing box office numbers and the upcoming NON-Affleck Batman movie. But I don’t think there “won’t be a second one”. If they’re changing the direction of JL2 then they’re being smart.

As much as a Marvel fan I am, Superman & Batman are the most iconic superheroes in history. They need better treatment than what JL did to them.

So, how did you feel when the Wonder Twins were added? I had a problem with the guy that could turn into pretty much anything, as long as it was made of ice

Zan!

He was crap! His sister Jana would turn into an eagle, a gorilla, or some other somewhat strong animal but he’d change into a bucket of water!

What a useless wuss!

Even their space monkey Gleek had to carry Zan around in the bucket as he splashed around!

I could never get into DC back in the 70's. When I had all the Marvel comics I wanted for a particular month I would look through the DC stuff and literally laugh at how bad it was. And this was when I was just a little kid.

A lot of the 70s dc comics were crap I think too. That’s probably why there was a lot of revamping in the 80s. AND those 80s dc comics saw some great stuff too: Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, Batman: The Killing Joke, the John Byrne Superman run which made Supes less mild-mannered and slightly depowered (two bold moves), Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and Alan Moore’s run on Swamp Thing.

But as far as live action DC related flicks, they’re usually weak. Looking back over the last 40 years, the only ones I liked ((grade B or higher)) were the first two Reeves’ Supes movies, Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Watchmen, 300 ((THE perfect example of guilty pleasure popcorn movie)), Wonder Woman, and V for Vendetta. Given how many have failed ((me)), that’s few.

Where DC isn’t weak is in their animated films and shows. I just wished that carried over into more of their live action movies.

ALL CRAP ALL CAP!

Hoping the new VENOM movie is good.

There really is no hope with any of this comic book crook crap by Hollywood.

It's over.

I like Tom Hardy but Venom looks like crap from what I’ve read. Can’t have a Venom movie without Spidey. IMHO, he’s not even a top 5 Spidey villain. Probably not even top 10.

Do you dislike ALL of the comic book character movies?...because there’s a big gap between the MCU, DC, and Marvel Fox stuff. The DC and Marvel Fox stuff are almost always crap. Grouping them all together is like grouping all movies of a specific genre together. Can’t group all horror movies together or all sci-fi or action or whatever together.

But I will say that the MCU in 2017 was 1-2 for me (Spidey Homecoming being the only one I liked). Their worst year so far. I do think 2018 will be better for the MCU with their trio of Black Panther, Avengers 3, and Ant-Man & Wasp being released.

In 2018, Fox has X-Men Dark Phoenix (sure to be shit), New Mutants (can’t trust it), and Deadpool (predictable Ryan Reynolds balls with more Colossus butchering).

DC has Aquaman and that’s it I think. Oooooh Momoa shirtless...big deal. Can’t trust that one bit.

When the live action of "Justice League" was in theatres, I saw it in 3-D, and I liked it. Before it was released in theatres, I felt it didn't deserve the negative publicity it was getting. Before people seeing, and watching it, may've judged it without knowing too much, nothing, or anything. Edited by Derek19
