Could you please give me the thread location so I could read it Vaportrailer?

Hi ORFie!

I won't post the link as that means I have to look at that thread again, but you can find it on page 2 of Grand Designs.

It's a thankfully locked thread entitled something like "The Only Lyrics Thread". It only lasted 7 pages.

It starts off innocently enough, then proceeds downhill in very rapid fashion until the wheels come off.

Sad, really.

I'd say "enjoy" but I can't! :P

Good luck!

Best; vt

Wow. I'm glad it's locked also....wow. Doesn't take long for some folks...

Union created it bc of me lmao but it got outta hand beacuse of some ppl thinking it was okay to turn into a tost/attack thread.

Well, like I said, it doesn't take some folks long to 'jump on the dog pile'. Sad really...

Got Facebook jail monthly for such tame non ban worthy memes like this by butthurt trollflakes. Zuckerberg and the insensitive selfish wimps can suck it. You can’t preach political incorrectness then whine to nanny state Cuckerberg. Can’t have it both ways.

All jails should be for one day no matter who they are all the time. This is commie bullshit taking me away from my friends and family just because someone is offended that I don’t believe in their 2+2=5 philosophy.

How many times have you been Facebook jailed? Seems like quite a few times now.

You can't put that on Facebook? I used to see equivalent stuff from both sides fairly regularly. Does someone have to report it?

Shopping for new bathtub, etc. . . . finally decided to work on our 1970's Brady Bunch bathroom with the blue tub and blue sink! Tooooo much to look at online . . . .eyes bulging out . . . .first world problem . . . . :banghead:

Sorry, bc, but improving your house can be a bit of a trip, too! Plus, blue is my soul color...DqOocEY.jpg

ORFie, if only !! I'd keep that color blue. It's this color- at least the blue toilet broke a few years back so we're back to white on that!

zsYZUe8m.jpg

Sounds like my childhood home that my dad built around 1959. Two main bathrooms...one was ALL seafoam green (tub, toilet, sink and tile) and the other ALL hot pink.

Funny thing is, I work in an old building built around that time and the men's room has the same seafoam green tile.

Back to your current dilemma, ever consider resurfacing the tub/shower white and replacing other stuff? Old tubs can be a nightmare to yank out.

My past came back and bit me today....during a job interview, when I was about to be handed the job.

The guy started asking me about my entire work history - IN GREAT DETAIL - and one incident from ten years ago came up. We spent the next 30 minutes talking about it. I went home without a job offer. :rage:

He ultimately called me back and offered me the job, which I accepted. I will now have to go to work everyday knowing that I won't be fully trusted.....or at least until I earn his trust, which won't be a problem.

Care to describe the incident?

A cowardly store manager, who had a personal problem with me.

A couple of Hershey’s Kisses in the trash compactor. I was singled out from everyone else and fired.

Had to go to court to get my unemployment compensation. A slam-dunk decision in my favor.

But now, if I ever have to list my job history in full, I have to worry about that BS incident from over ten years ago.

But if you explain it as 'I got fired for a couple hershey's kisses in the trash compactor', I think any reasonable person would give you a pass on that.

I think everyone should get fired at least once. It's a learning experience if nothing else.

Yeah, we have a few guy's names that are supposed to come soon and give us a a quote for getting that sucker out of there! I have thought a lot about getting it resurfaced but I don't know anyone that's actually done it to ask them how long it lasts. Estimates very so widely and it is the most heavily used bathroom. I think it's going to be $$$ whatever we do!

I've never done it myself, but I would think the resurfacing liquid or paint they roll on would be crap and not last. Other places put an entire 'shell' over the existing tub, so that might be more promising. It might be best to treat it like a bad tooth and just yank the sucker out. You never know what damage lies underneath that would need fixing as well.

Or do what I would do and just move. :P

Someone(s) in my extended family are really worrying me (is the nicest way to put it!) I don't understand deciding to leave a good job when both people are in their 50's and think another company will just step in and pick them up at their current pay and benefit levels. And they can't retire early, they still have high school kids and a mortgage. I thought that when you were unhappy with a job, you tried to find another one before you left your current one. :( :(

Maybe the hate of that job had been piling up for years to the point where it couldn’t be taken anymore?

I did exactly that five years ago. It was such a hostile work environment that I walked out. Best decision that I have ever made. My physical/mental health was on the edge of a cliff.

I moved in with my mother (who needed my help quite often anyway) and spent five months looking for a job. The job that I found was GREAT. :sundog:

Thank you, PM and JB. I think I'm probably over thinking this. I'm sure they will land right side up but a sister worries. :o

You could very well be right about the situation. Quitting a job without having a new job is not a recommended strategy. It should always be done as a last resort.

In my case, I have no dependents. All I have is myself, so that gave me the freedom and opportunity to quit. I consider myself very lucky.

For some strange reason both of the "smart" keys to my car don't work, despite changing the batteries in both of them, so I can't start my car. Tomorrow I need to have the car towed to the dealership and get this mess fixed. Today I'll just chill out in the house. Thank God I didn't get stranded somewhere!

DOH, helps to read the owners manual. Found out there's a socket hidden in the console that you can plug the smart key into to start the car. Problem solved, back on the road. Next week I'm going to start looking for a new, and possibly final, vehicle. Starting with Subaru, likely a Forester or Outback.

You DON'T read the owners manual? C'MON, man! don't you know those people who BELIEVE in conspiracies ARE RIGHT a lot of the time these days? Unless an owner buys a Chilton's manual for their vehicles these days, You can't even work on your car, or do regular upkeep work on it. This is the way they keep you spending your money on THEM to fix 'em. I like Subaru also. "a WHOOP DE DOO for my SUBARU!" remember that Discount Tire commercial?

Lets just say a certain YouTuber who calls himself "the most honest person on YouTube" wouldn't know honesty if it gave him an uppercut to the f***ing jaw.
