Wild 2 Hawks 1 :sigh: The boys looked good, just didn't have enough tonight. 21-16-6

It was a good game to watch though, Robert.

Yes, the Hawks played well, flying all over the ice, but for some reason they couldn't solve Dubnyk. Still, if they show up every night like this, they'll be fine going forward.

NICE, nice 5-4 win over the Carolina Hurricanes tonight! It really should've been 7-4 but we were completely cheated out of one goal which for some reason Zebra's never "saw" and we were not given a chance to challenge?? Next a weak, weak off side call that had to be reviewed like 5 minutes to erase a legit goal. Anyhoo a win is a win and my Bolts were able to skate off the rink with one more goal than the visitors so all is well. Two highlights on the evening, 1- Tyler Johnson getting a Hat-trick earning his 14th,15th & 16th goal on the season. 2- I was able to take my 25yr old Niece to her 1st hockey game ever! Judging by her excitement and overall participation I believe there is not only a new Lightning fan but a new hockey fan :D

Tampa 31-9-3 65pts.

Up next we host the red headed Klondike Calgary Flames.

Lets GO Lightning!!!

:hockeygoon:

Tough night! The power play looks potent, but couldn't finish. Your organist is amazing! They made Cowtown feel "TOO" right at home playing the Green Acres theme so often. Fun stuff! ... Roll out the barrel!

Well the my bolts got spanked by the Red headed Klondike Flames 5-1. It was one of those nights where the puck just couldn't find the back of the net for the lightning. Our only goal by Braden Point in the 2nd would be the only goal of the evening even more opportunities were available. The power play did reappear for the bolts after a bit of hiatus but unfortunately didn't produce any goals. The team didn't appear to be "sluggish" more like sleepy. Especially Vasilevskiy, well hell I guess everybody is due bad night and last night was definitely Vas's. On a very concerning note All-star Victor Hedman went down & out on a leg injury :scared: The jury is still out on how long he will be out. Victor is one of 4 players (an NHL record) of the "Sticks Of Fire" selected for the All-star game 01/28. On a bright note the Bolts get 6 days off to lick their wounds and regroup for a big Challenge we the Lightning host the Western division leaders Vegas Golden Girls 1/18. We were beat by Vegas 4-3 on 12/19. Hopefully the extra rest will be a help and not a detriment (as sometimes too much rest is).

Tampa 31-10-3 65pts.

Lets GO Lightning!!

Yes the pipe organ was a wonderful addition when our "top quality" owner renovated the Amalie arena when he 1st bought the team some years ago. It sounds great in person and provides a classic "old time" hockey feel to the place. Another awesome element during the last major renovation was the addition of two Tesla coils that produce lightning after scores and during team announcements. I have heard from many other teams fans that frequent the Amalie, how nice a venue it is. It is a gem for sure!

That was a very nice tribute to Willie O Ree at the Garden in him being the first black player to play in the NHL.

BRUINS up 2-1 against the Canadiens.

Shoot! The Pens had a 4 game winning streak going, including beating the Red Wings in Detroit over the weekend. The very awesome Phil Kessel scored for the Pens, also Guentzel and Malkin but they lost to the Ducks tonight, 5-3. Rookie Tristan Jarry was in goal because, sadly, Matt Murray's dad passed away yesterday; Murray is actually on indefinite leave right now. The local paper had a nice article about their relationship.

Crawford could be out for the rest of the season. I say put him on the shelf, like they did with Kane in 2015. That way you have 11 million to spend on getting at least three good players, and try to get into the playoffs.

Too much rest BAD!! :boohoo:

Tampa falls to Vegas 4-1 :(

31-11-3 65pts

Next up we travel to Minnesota to take on the Wild kicking off an 8 game road trip! More concecutive away games than any other team in the NHL this season.

Let's GO Lightning!!

Bruins/Habs ... 3rd meeting in a week, on hockey day in Canada, no less. That should be good for a punch-up or three. I'm not sure there are any fighters on the Smurfs, so I'll predict some stitches to set the table instead.

Brutal scheduling! ... but you do host plenty of teams doing their annual Disney coastal tour, so things do tend to even out. NBL!
