jamie
as usual i was the only one f***ing working while everyone else went and dicked around or sat off to the side and gossiped. it doesn't surprise me anymore but it still makes me angry. even if it's not busy at least one person helping me would be nice so i have to jump around everywhere. of course there are times where i can handle it on my own if my manager needs to make a phone call or something, but when there's 5+ cars in the drive through i feel like im running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. it's like my coworkers see me clock in and just go into break mode. at this point everyone there except for like 4 people can get f***ed.

It does not make any sense...Sounds like the typical idiot boss. Unfortunately, they’re a dime a dozen. My first full time boss was just like this. No brain of her own, just listened to the Corporation, and didn't question their 'wisdom', but did whatever they told her, without even thinking about what that would entail. She gave me 2 or even 3 person's jobs and expected me to do them, with alacrity, then eventually fired me because I couldn't. What an ASSHOLE. I heard from friends I had made there that she fired me and HIRED TWO PEOPLE TO DO THE SAME JOB. It was simple, really, all she needed was my .22 long rifle shoved UP HER ASS and fired repeatedly through her body and into the pile of shit she called her BRAIN...DEVO: "MONGOLOID she was a MONGOLOID Happier than you and me. MONGOLOID she was a MONGOLOID, and it determined what she could see!..."

That's how it is at every job isn't it? I've never worked at a place where stuff like this or what Jamie is talking about hasn't happened. Even if someone is lazy once they've been around for a while and know what they're doing even if they do very little, the boss would rather just keep them then take a chance on someone new who could end up being much worse. Zumbi, when you're new to a job, sometimes the longer tenured employees will stick you with a bunch of work. They want to see what you're worth since they don't know you too well yet. They also might be sick of some of the things they do if they've been around long enough and stick the new person with it. Happens all the time. If you stay there long enough you'll probably end up doing that to a new person at some point. Not saying that it's right but that's just what happens. Sure he can do that if he's not concerned with possibly losing his job. Bosses don't even listen to long time employee complaints. Forget about it if he's only been there a few months.

blueschica
Too much shopping! Family is a blessing and we do draw names, but even with that, there are a lot of people to buy for and no one knows what they want this year. :( I feel like my eyeballs are coming out of my head from looking online, not to mention the hours long trip to Kohl's . . . .

Blue J
I had a fight today with a guy at work, just because he is being lazy and can´t do his work so he want me to do it for him, but I refuse! I'd just give him the 'Stiff Didget' [finger] and report him to the boss. I’ve been covering two salaried positions for almost seven months now. I just work, no muss no fuss, and I get a lot of things done. I’m coming up for a good raise and likely a promotion in the not too distant future. The key is just in how you approach your work. I’ve had jobs like the ones recently described in this thread. In fact, I recently spent thirteen years in a place that continually took advantage of everything I did for them- they did nothing concrete to recognize it. So I looked for a new job, and interviewed at various different places for about two years until I found the right fit. Things are a lot better for me now, on the professional front. Take my point of view however you choose to.
