laughedatbytime
The season is two weeks old, and no thread yet. But this season deserves a thread, if only for this game... No. 25 Alabama basketball was forced to play 3-on-5 basketball for the final 10 minutes of its game against No. 14 Minnesota after the Crimson Tide’s entire bench was ejected, a player fouled out, and another sprained his ankle. Minnesota won, 89-84, but even with a two-man advantage for the last quarter of the game, the Gophers’ lead was shaky at points. This game should have been over the moment John Petty went down with a lower leg injury, reducing Alabama to a three-man set. Somehow it wasn’t. and although the Tide lost, 89-84, the team outscored the Gophers, 30-22, while playing with only three players. With 13 minutes left in the game, the ENTIRE Crimson Tide bench was ejected. The official ruling was for “leaving the bench” in a skirmish in which Minnesota’s Nate Mason was also ejected. Andrew Joseph✔@AndyJ0sephAlabama basketball is really upset about the Iron Bowl5:39 PM - Nov 25, 2017 2 2 Replies 131 131 Retweets 137 137 likesTwitter Ads info and privacy Adam Zagoria✔@AdamZagoriaThis isn't the the Iron Bowl but Alabama and Minnesota had to be separated just now after Nate Mason was ejected for talking smack. Avery Johnson, Collin Sexton also T'ed up. Turns out, an empty bench looks really lonely, and this is when Bama still had five players on the floor, despite the mass ejection. Chris Stone@cstonehoopsThis is the Alabama bench right now.5:38 PM - Nov 25, 2017 1 1 Reply 12 12 Retweets 14 14 likesTwitter Ads info and privacySurely things couldn’t get any worse, right? Shortly thereafter, Dazon Ingram, one of Bama’s remaining five players, picked up his fifth foul, leaving the Tide with just four players on the court for the rest of the game. 1h Rob Dauster✔@RobDausterAlabama's entire bench got ejected for leaving the bench. They have five guys for the rest of the game. Rob Dauster✔@RobDausterAnd now Alabama's Dazon Ingram just picked up his fifth foul. They'll have four guys for the last 11:37 of this game. How do you turn a rotten situation into, well, an even more rotten situation? Injury. Bama’s John Petty sprained his ankle with just over nine minutes remaining in the game, leaving the Tide with THREE players on the floor, facing down a full five. When Petty went down with the ankle injury, the Gophers held a 13 point advantage over the Tide. Playing with just three men, Alabama climbed back into the game as the Tide outscored Minnesota 30-22 over the course of the last 10 minutes. Bama got as close as 83-80 with 1:39 to play, but couldn’t finish off the upset. Collin Sexton had 38 points for the Tide, going 12-for-22 from the field and putting on a show. He also added five assists in the game, including this dime in traffic that led to an Alabama dunk: The game was streamed on Facebook Live and had over 31 thousand viewers over the last minute of the game. https://www.sbnation.com/2017/11/25/16700124/alabama-minnesota-basketball-had-to-playing-with-3-players-fight-injury-minnesota I hope they show this somewhere, it had to be wild... laughedatbytime
Hoosiers with a yuuuuuuuuuuuge win vs a really good, veteran Notre Dame team, 80-77. Incredible ending to regulation, complete with two missed FTs on a really bad call (fortunately the guy they "fouled" was 0-2 on the year. Then when ND took a 77-74 lead with less than half a minute to go, Morgan backed down the defender, got a bucket and 1, missed the FT, McRoberts got the board and fed someone (not even sure who it was) for the winning bucket. After Farrell airballed a 3 with 2.3 seconds left and Green was fouled. He made both, then Colson rimmed out a three from about 50 feet.

laughedatbytime
Sweet. The Butler Bulldogs but a beat down on the soon to be former #1 team Villanova.I believe this is the third time they've beaten Nova in the last two years. All when they were rated #1 or #2. Nice to see an Indiana school do well! Go Bulldogs!
