  1. 1. What are your thoughts on Tarantino directing a Star Trek movie?

    • Awesome!
    • It could be good. You never know.
    • I don’t care really. I may give it a shot.
    • Terrible terrible idea.

I would think his weird eye view of things will put an additional dimension to the way the Star trek universe spins.

:AlienSmiley:

Yeah....half the cameras will be focused on Lt. Uhura's feet.

With Uma Thurman as Lt. Uhura.

Kirk and Picard will appear halfway through shoot each other in the gut with phasers and fall on the floor rolling around for 20 minutes screaming and crying...

Team Picard. Hell with that overreacting douche Shat.

He’s a much MUCH better actor than Shat but I definitely prefer the characters and stories of the original series

Rumors are spreading faster than fact about Quentin Tarantino in talks to do a Star Trek film.

Tarantino has required it to be R rated, and Paramount and Abrams agreed to that condition.

As a stand-alone feature in the Trek universe it could prove interesting but this is NOT a fix for Star Trek. The thrill of being explorers, discovery and hard decisions of encountering new life forms is what we need.

Tarantino's insisting on an R-rating proves that he should never be involved with any Star Trek production.

The very essence of Star Trek is the progress of Humanity - personal and societal improvement and exploration as well as the renouncement of our primitive desires. Tarantino would have the crew of the Enterprise be the exact opposite.

Sigh...Star Trek should be something for all ages. There are sci-fi franchises to get your R rating or how about Tarantino do something original?

Well, the article never said that Tarantino’s script centers around the Enterprise. A “Star Trek” movie (or show for that matter) could mean a whole mess of things.

I don’t think I need a Tarantino Trek film. And I definitely don’t want him messing with the Enterprise characters.

Besides that, Star Trek Beyond got some pretty good reviews. I thought it was decent and a thousand times better than that Into Darkness crap. It at least looked like Trek was headed in the right direction with Beyond.

Like a dark gritty tale that takes place on a Federation planet not involving Starfleet. Except maybe a dead Starfleet officer found in a pool of his blood, the prositute that the police arrested swears she had nothing to do with it.

And with the obligatory multiple F-bombs spewed by one and all, of course.....

I like every movie he's done besides the god awful Deathproof and I don't even want this. Dafuq are they thinking?

Tarantino’s 3-6 with me. The 6 that I count as losses have parts I like but overall I gave them losses

Same here. I can't say I find him overrated. Most positive reviews and movie fans admit his films are bloated, and for what inspires him he does extremely well. I love Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and the really shaky Inglourious Basterds (far from perfect but endlessly rewatchable), but I couldn't finish either Django Unchained or The Hateful 8.

Kill Bill is fun if really ponderously dumb at times, and everything else is okay. I feel I am overlooking a big classic here but I can't put my finver on it...

Agreed.

Star Trek Beyond is easily the most 'true to Trek' thing that's been produced in the post-Enterprise era.

Really? After arriving at Yorktown Station it felt like the Darkness crap.
