Chrome and this forum

I've posted a few posts and was just going through the various areas here. all of a sudden Chrome warned of a Trojan horse and shut down itself. I logged in now from Edge that came installed on my computer. Logging and reading also works fine on my iPhone or an Android tablet.

Just wondering.

That happened once w/ me on this site (w/ Chrome)...not sure what prompted it, but I know it was a thread w/ lots of pictures and videos, so maybe that had something to do w/ it. I shut down everything, ran a security scan (which came up clean) and rebooted...hasn't happened since.

It happened to me twice while I was on TRF and once when I was at a NIN forum. Scared the Hell outta me. One of my Maiden friends had that problem too.

It happened to me last night. It started beeping and I shut it down. I went to google and ran malwarebytes adware and deleted the file and then ran it again and it was gone. Edited by Leanne

I've had something happen that's similar. I can't say that it's definitely something to do with TRF but I was on TRF when it happened. In my case my internet connection freezes up and I get the yellow triangle on my connection icon in the taskbar. I then have to clear out my cache before rebooting because if I don't I have problems restarting and have to make some changes in the bios (like changing the date) to get things going again. The reboot solves the issue. I've had this happen about half a dozen times since July.

I've had strange things happen to me too on here. Maybe TRF is an arm of the CIA. :codger:

Or something. :)

We ARE the CIA. You Rush fans are a suspicious lot.

Paranoia strikes deep.

Into your heart  it will creep.

It starts when you're always afraid. :scared:

Step out of line and the CIA comes and takes you away. :fury:

I get cryptic messages too like this one:

FAKE TECH SUPPORT WEBSITE 73

Do you know how to take a screenshot? I'd like to see what that message looks like on your screen the next time you see it.

No, I don't know how to take a screenshot.

The last time I got that message was at the end of November.

Edit: By the way, cute avatar.

Somewhere on your keyboard should be a key with PrtScn or similar or maybe it's spelled out. When you hold the shift key and push that button, it makes an image of anything that's on the screen. The open MS Paint, hit Ctrl V and what you just copied will magically appear (hopefully). "Save as" and then attach it to a PM.

Be aware that if you have any tabs open that you don't want others to see, you can crop those out. You know, porn and stuff. :chickendance:
