As others have said (rightly, I might add) this is a masterpiece. I think Sabotage is a bit of a drop off, but the debut through this album are pretty much flawless.

Yes indeed. Vol. 4 doesn't get enough love imo. Supernaut baby!

Respectfully disagree with both these posts. Sabotage is their best album.

And out of the first 6 albums, it is Vol 4 that is flawed. Subpar production and out of tune guitars.

Sabotage has some amazing moments, but some not so stellar ones too.

But Hole in the Sky is my favorite Ozzy era tune

I love this album so much. almost as much as Sabotage.

X2...

Sabbath meets progressive rock and makes an excellent twin album set.

Ozzy had been hanging with Rick Wakeman at the time.

Sabbra Cadabra is just barely my favorite, with Spiral Architet a close second.

A little stunned to see that Spiral Architect has zero votes for favorite. :(

Yeah, I don't really understand why people don't like it as much. That acoustic intro? Haunting and mesmerizing.

My one more thought about this album: SBS sounds too unique to be a plain metal album. In fact it's barely metal or the least-metal album by Sabbath.

I disagree. If metal is too limited in scope to include SBS, then there are a lot of other classic metal albums which are no longer "metal."

You don't know much about metal if you think it is a limited genre.
