Why are there stages in the Homestead race when it's winner take all?

I didn't mind stage racing in the regular season, it made for better racing IMO during parts of the race when people would be coasting, but there was also value to stage points. For a winner take all race, there's no point to having stages that have nothing to do (other change strategy) with the championship. Just call them competition cautions if you want to have planned stoppages, but there's no reason to pretend they're anything else this Sunday.

So, KJ, what did you think of the Sadler/Preece "incident"?

I can maybe see why Sadler was upset, but after looking at it I can't see anything Preece did wrong. If he's not supposed to be racing (I believe he was on the lead lap), then don't have those guys out there.

Everyone is so close! An exciting end to the season. Even though Joey Logano didn't qualify in a high position, I'm going with him. It will be interesting!

blueschica- Joey Logano

Mr. blues -- Brad Keselowski

What happens if the 4 finalists are involved in a big wreck and can't finish? I'm guessing it would be based on running order at the time of the crash but wouldn't that be a crappy way to determine the winner?

It could literally come down to which wrecked racecar coasts the furthest out of the crash.

CONGRATS BLUESCHICKA!

You got me by ONE POINT!

3rd in 2016, 2nd in 2017... I hope to continue the trend in 2018.

Thanks for a great season everyone! Let me know what you liked and didn't like for next year.

I didn't like missing the chase this year.
