Why did they include 'In the Mood' in their live setlist for so long?

Rush fans don't want to dance. We're a different breed.

You sure you've been to a Rush concert? I only got to see them once, but people were noticeably dancing to some songs. They also played air guitar/drums, head-banged, and even did fistpumps!

Now, as a Deadhead, dancing is basically my nature, and I can dance to whatever music I listen to. Rush is no different. Music moves in more ways than one, and I've seen Rush fans dance.

I never liked that song. On the Grace Under Pressure tour (my third tour) my friend and started yelling NOOOO when they started to play it. While I agree that Neil used to overplay on the songs from the first album, I thought his drumming on In The Mood on the ASOH video was so uninspiring and I thought at the time that he was either really tired of that song or just tired.

The song just doesn't represent who they are AT ALL.

So?? Who cares??

If they preform/preformed it then so be it.

I like that song tbh

Right on.

And more to the point (not to mention, respectfully), if they like it and want to play it, it absolutely DOES represent who they are. It's up to us to decide whether we like who they are.

Only they get to decide who, in fact, they are.

I always take them at face value. I like some and don't care for some. I consider that to be just fine.
