  1. 1. Bastille Day or Ogre Battle?

    • Rush - Bastille Day
    • Queen - Ogre Battle

Both are great, but Ogre Battle is that next level of great. Live they're probably equal, but in the studio Queen went buzzerk on Ogre Battle, whereas Rush just hammered Bastille Day out.

Bastille Day was the first track I heard of Rush...ever...on ATWAS. Took me about a minute to be sold for life. "Oh my God...WTF changes keys about 6 times during the guitar solo?"

I admit I'm not real familiar with deep cuts in the Queen material, so I gave this a good 3-4 listens. Good rock song, but it sounds like there's too many disparate parts crammed into one song and it doesn't flow well. Too many stops and starts. The beginning is trippy and cool though and the Bytor-ish break is cool as well.

But Bastille is top 10 Rush for me, so it's still not close.

Bastille Day. Queen sucks and is overrated

Vampires suck and are overrated.

Queen suck at sucking.

Double suck negative becomes a suck positive! Wait...

Queen rock. Just watch that Live Aid performance.

(I voted for Bastille Day btw)

Btw2: Not liking Queen could get you kicked out of Quebec and banished to the Magdalen Islands. :(

The debut is a pretty fun rock album.

well _hi_water_ .... looks like you have resurrected another old thread so I might as well get my tuppance worth in -

Queen - a great, iconic band and Ogre Battle is one of their heaviest moments from arguably their heaviest album ...

but

Bastille Day is part of the Rush DNA ... it takes me back to some of my earliest memories of the band ..... any easy choice.
