On TheRoad To Adventure
Don’t have AXS so couldn’t watch. Anyone want to share spoilery thoughts/insights/interesting moments? For those who don't have access to AXS TV, the episode will be made available for digital purchase the following day for $2 at this location here. I've posted this twice already. Nobody has to worry about missing the interview as long as they buy the 'effing' clip. Does anyone pay attention to details in posts? This $2 investment to me is more worthwhile than buying a beverage at an expensive coffee shop. Thanks. I will try at home later. Hope it will be available for purchase in Canada. Lorraine
Who's baby is crying in the background? His grandson must be close to two now. This sounds like an infant. Edit: You hear it right before they break for a commercial and Geddy is singing something called Xanadu. Lorraine
Notice Geddy's smirk when Dan mentions Rush's "loyal fan base"? Edit: Uh-oh, John Rogers...did you catch Geddy using the word "pals"? Edited October 25, 2017 by Lorraine
Presto-digitation
I got the feeling Rush is done. And it's not because of Neil Peart! But, Geddy has passions and I don't think we have heard the last from him. Very good interview. What did he say that makes you think it’s not because of Neil? Yeah, I didn't get that out of his replies either. Basically sounds like he was merely tap-dancing around naming the reasons why. That's the luxury of being interviewed by someone not really in the know, you don't have to go there as you might a rock "journalist."If nothing else, he probably wouldn't want to throw Neil under the (touring) bus, since they're actually friends versus just band mates. Right. It's not a matter of fault, but of decision. Peart's is that he's done and the others is that there is no Rush without him. It's pretty simple. I realize Alex is/was also hurting with arthritis and that plays into it too. Getting old sucks. But it was a good run if there's nary another song or live show.
Presto-digitation
Also, props to Rather for the correct pronunciation of "Peert"...not "Purt." :D

Ged has had time to measure his words concerning Neil's retirement and to come to terms with it - the R40 documentary shows a Ged still freshly hurt by Neil's decision. Lorraine
Did your heart sink? Even mine did, and I don't consider myself as much of a fan as so many of you. If Geddy wasn't Geddy Lee of Rush but just one of us on TRF, he'd be the most fanatical fan of Rush here. Thank you, Helene Spieler, for leaving the interview up, and thanks again, Eagle, for telling me about the link. I saved $2.00. ;)
HemiBeers
It was about half re-hashed stuff we knew about. 'so how'd you get the name Geddy?' But that's to be expected coming from Rather. The other half was moderately interesting but not ground breaking. I thought the hour long show about Hendrix's Electric Ladyland album before Geddy was more interesting.

Yea but to the casual or non fan, I think it revealed a lot about the nature and character of Ged and the band.

pjbear05
I thought the hour long show about Hendrix's Electric Ladyland album before Geddy was more interesting. You should love the rest of them. IMHO the Classic Albums on Electric Ladyland has been the biggest steaming dog pile of the series. Tonight's is Dark Side of the Moon, and we'll see how that one goes.
TexMike
Well, I'd never heard the story of how he became known as Geddy, so I found that and the story of his parents experiences in the camps very interesting. Most of the rest I already knew. Also being a baseball fan, I was amazed at his collection and wonder just how much coin he's dropped on all those historic balls. The last part where he suggested that at some point, he will HAVE to create new music and play live again was encouraging. You could tell by the look in his eyes though that he has lost hope it will be with RUSH.

theredtamasrule
Someone recorded it on periscope. You can watch it here. https://www.pscp.tv/...l/1vAxRMoBArPJl You have to skip 20 minutes in past the Hendrix stuff. Thanks for posting that. Geddy Lee sure is an interesting, articulate and modest guy. YES! Thanks for posting that.

And yes, it doesn't look good for Rush as a band. Still, hope springs eternal.

rugen
My thoughts after watching this interview: 1- Rush is done2- Geddy is going to write something in the future, but I don't think he can do by himself something remarkable3- I just hope that Alex or/and Geddy team up with creative musicians to do something special in the future.
