I know I started this thread many months ago about John Carpenter being involved with the new "Halloween" movie. I put it in the Music Of The Spheres.

Funny how I wrote that one a long time ago confirming that John will do the score to the new film.

I am very excited tonight as I have learned that all other sequels are going to be completely ignored, erased into the minds of cinema. The suspension of disbelief because all of us "Halloween" fan know that Laurie gets killed in H20.

So that is now totally ignored as Jamie Lee Curtis will be in the new film.

All sequels with Michael are gone. Even "Halloween II" which John HATED writing is a thing of the past!

I can't wait for October 19th 2018!! Almost exactly one year from the creation of this thread!!

So pumped!

As you know I am also a diehard "Halloween III Season Of The Witch" freak!

The great thing about about this movie is that is is still safe at III.

Halloween 1978

Halloween 2018

Halloween III

The Trilogy of PERFECTION!

Well I hope!

Seeing John Carpenter three times in the first week of November. I have a meet and greet. I can't wait to talk to him again!!!

John Carpenter RULES!!!!

John Carpenter is my RUSH of directors and film soundtracks!

WINNER WINNER CHRISTINE DINNER!!!

I'm wondering why John wouldn't choose to be more involved with this .. Halloween is constantly referred to as his creation, and you'd think he'd want to personally take it and make it right ..

The last movie he wrote was the abysmal Ghosts Of Mars ( 2001 ) and since then, he's directed one film ..

Here's a quote from John:

It’s gonna be fun. There’s a really talented director and it was well-written. I’m impressed

I have the sinking feeling that fans will not be

Carpenter is neither directing not writing this. Just noted as "producer" which amounts to who knows what.

I'm skeptical of it being decent.

Blaze! I trust John! He loved the script written together by two guys. One is actually into comedy. That scares me. Pun intended. But if John loved the script and green lit it then screw it!!

He is doing the score. That makes me so happy!!!! John said, "yes I am going to do the score for the new picture, it's going to be easy." LOL! Something like that!!

I am totally pumped!!!

I am more excited about Halloween 2018 than Star Wars Episode VIII: THE PORG AWAKENS!

This movie is going right from 1978 to 2018. No bullshit sequels.

Of course "Halloween III" is still not part of this mess. It's an original masterpiece that most hate. LOVE IT!

Makes me happy.

Halloween III is like loving the retired prog band RUSH!

Most people hate RUSH. Most people hate "Halloween III."

HAHAHA!

I will love them both until I fuckking die.

Glad I am not part of the sheeple populous on this mundane insane planet.

HAHAH!

And you you think I'm fuckingg nuts?

LOL!!!!

RUSH AND JOHN CARPENTER FOREVER!

Wait...isn’t Danny McBride involved with the writing/directing of the new Halloween reboot??

Hahaha!

The new Halloween is not a "reboot." The new Halloween is a true sequel to the 1978 classic.

Halloween II IV V VI and all that other crap is being completely erased. LOVE IT!

PURE SHITE!

Although IV and V where ok. Thanks to Pleasance.

Those shit garbage reboots were done by that overrated talentless hack Rob Zombie. Terrible musician and director. JMO

Get it "Hack" Like "Hackett To Pieces"

Signed,

GTR

Never mind...reading up on it now. Looking forward to to as they will completely ignore any of the sequels...which, sorry Earl, are not any good.

Oh shit! Whoops!

Yes, you get it.

As I just said yes, it's cool amigo. I do like IV and V but all others are SHITE.

I am SOOOOOO happy that John is taking his baby back and being part of it again!!!

I remember when I met John last year. I kneeled down by him as he was signing a few of my Halloween LPS.

I said, "Hey John, do you have one more horror movie in you?"

He paused. Looked at me and said with a smile.... "Why yes I do." He then took a deep breath and signed my lp in silver sharpie! It was a big bold auto!!!

I love him!!

I had no clue at that moment in time that he was working on the next true Halloween sequel!

I am so pumped!!!!!

RUSH = JOHN CARPENTER

You know me! I can be quite the cynic too!!!

This "Halloween" will be INCREDIBLE!!!!!

I can't wait!!!!

Oct 19th 2018 will be Christmas for me!!

Hell "Halloween III" is my second favorite movie on the earth.

Glad I am different from the masses!!

"HALLOWEEN" = "HEMISPHERES"

DUH!

I mean Halloween III is awesome in it’s spectacular goofiness, manly moustaches & villanous Irish Micks.

HAHAHAHA!!!!! I love the way you wrote this post!!! "Can't I get your ghost Bob?"

"Spectacular goofiness, many mustaches and villainous Irish Masks!"

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!

TRUE!!!!

Again, I am crazy. It truly is my second favorite movie of all time behind "Halloween."

I'm going to tell John that on November 4th!! I'm going to have him sign a Japanese LP pressing of Halloween and an American LP pressing of HALLOWEEN III!

Thank God Rob Zombie never tried to reboot HALLOWEEN III!!!

Didn´t they release Halloween H20: 20 Years Later in 1998 (!!!!!!!) saying it was going to be the last one of the franchise? Since then, there was a sequel (Halloween: Ressurrection) and the two movies that were part of the Rob Zombie reboot. And now this? I dunno...I´m a fan of horror movies, but do we really need yet another Halloween sequel?

It's been about 30 years since I saw something directed or produced by John that was good! That's a long damn time!

Escape from L.A. was one of the worst sequels ever.

And Vampires was cheesy. Not total crap but it wasn't very good either.

Since 1988's They Live, John has written two films: Escape From LA and Ghosts Of Mars ( both of which he directed, so he has no excuses ) .. and since 1996 with Escape From LA, John has directed 4 films: Escape From LA, Vampires, Ghosts Of Mars and The Ward ..

I just don't understand why he wouldn't be more involved with Halloween .. He doesn't seem like a very inspired guy as far as movies, so tacking his name on to this shouldn't hold much importance

I am always up for anything with Michael Myers. I hope this film is great.

My rankings of the Myers films. Halloween III is a stand alone and a guilty pleasure of mine. I love it.

1) Halloween

2) Halloween II

3) Halloween IV

4) Halloween Zombie (I am a big fan of the first half of the movie with Zombies re-imaging of Michael's youth and back story)

5) Halloween V

6) Halloween H2O

7) Halloween VI Producers Cut (A totally different movie with the producers cut, night and day actually)

8) Halloween Resurrection (pretty bad)

9) Halloween II Zombie (awful just awful)

Yes I agree Rod! But please!!! You sound like John Carpenter man!!! Forget the sequels except for III!!

Dude, John has completely ignored or erased all of that crap!!!! Those sequels were just a cash grab! John NEVER endorsed those shit films. Yet I am sure he was collecting free royalty checks!!!

Rod!

John approved the screen play written by two guys I am not familiar with.

He is producing it and doing the score!!!

Clear your mind Rod!

Remember? Suspension of disbelief.

I am actually shocked that Jamie Lee has signed on.

The film is taking place 30 years from the first film!!!

Even Halloween II is erased. They put a gun to John's head to write that sequel with Debra Hill!

Come on bud!

I can't wait.

It will be like 1978 for me in 2018.

It's cool! We all have our opinions.

Do you know how lucky I was when I was a freshman in high school?

Well my parents took me to see Escape From New York when I was in the 8th grade.

My mind was blown.

I remember in 1982 going into the theater to see The Thing with my older buddy Sal.

Insanely enough, Halloween III was new in the theaters and playing during the same time as The Thing.

My buddy Sal and I snuck into Halloween III.

My fuckingg mind was blown out of my eyes like little Buddy in the mask.

Seriously!

Perhaps because I was so young and dorky that I fell for it.

I was already in love with John Carpenter's work at a very young age.

I thought John directed Season Of The Witch! But of course it was the great Tommy Lee Wallace!

Say what you will. It's all good.

I am in my own ways. Just sharing my passions with humans on a public board.

I'm trying to spread the love of a movie that was a bomb. But now it is the BOMB! LOL! MASTERPIECE!

RUSH ON!

David Gordon Green is a decent director (George Washington, Pineapple Express, Joe) but another Halloween movie doesn't excite me.

I understand. But please see it!!!!

October 19th 2018 will be Christmas for me.

I could be dead by then.

I get it man, but he is more focused on his band and playing his incredible music with his son.

I can't wait to see John Carpenter three times and Goblin. All within 5 days. The Universe is real. Depends on what you love in life. I know what I love.

I don't agree Lucas.

True, John didn't want to be that involved in the new film but he green lighted the script. He raved about it.

He will be on set.

He wasn't even going to touch the score, but he is going to do it now.

I bet John and his band will score it.

John is so HOT now!!!! He is at the twilight of his career and loving it.

You know I compare RUSH and John together all the time as my main loves.

Well?

RUSH became bigger as well during the twilight of their career.

See a pattern?????

I will never forget when I met John last year.

I wore my Hemispheres tee shirt just for him.

I said....

"Hey John, do you like RUSH?" He said, "yeah they are ok."

So that was weak.

So then I asked John, "John, do you have one more horror movie in you?"

He looked at me and said, "yes I do....."

Little did I know he was talking about the new "Halloween" movie.

Can't wait.

The drivers in this goddamn city are something else. I will not die of natural causes. It's like that Tim Burton movie where they look into the witch's eye and they see how it ends.

Boots! Jesus! Be safe!!!

I love Tim Burton. But not as much as John. ;)

"The Nightmare Before Christmas" is actually my third favorite film.

Hmmm.....

Although I am listening to the "Halloween III" soundtrack and my oldest daughter is freaking out I am thinking the movie you are referring to is "Big Fish?"

Excellent movie.

When you write "goddamn city" I thought of Gotham City.

Be safe Boots!

"These boots were made for walking, and that's just what they'll do, these boots were made for walking and they're gonna walk all over you!

Walk safe and drive safe!

Love,
