1977

A Farewell To Kings

Going For The One

Etc etc...

by "etc", I am assuming you mean Love Gun, right ??

That wouldn't be the first couple etc's but down the list of etc's somewhere. Didn't ATWAS come out in 76' also? A pretty good year too I must admit...

yep, All The World's A Stage was '76 .. The list is staggering for this era

I only listed studio albums

'77 had Lights Out

'76 had Boston's debut as well.

'76 was Smokin' !!!

1980?

Permanent Waves

Love Stinks

British Steel

Iron Maiden

Heaven and Hell

Ready an' Willing

The Tale of the Tape (I personally love this album)

Cultosaurus Erectus

Emotional Rescue

Back in Black

Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)

Blizzard of Ozz

Zenyatta Mondatta

Remain in Light

Hi Infidelity

Boy

And I didn't include any live albums, which would have added The Kinks One for the Road.

I've listened to every single one of these albums in the last year.

I’d add Sandinista by Clash and Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables by Dead Kennedys. As I said before, my birth year was awesome.

Probably 71. 70 would be my next pick (and I wasn't born until 72)

Janis Joplin - Pearl

Mountain - Nantucket Sleighride

The Yes Album

Jethro Tull - Aqualung

Doors - LA Woman

Stones - Sticky Fingers

Allmans - Fillmore East

Sabbath - Masters Of Reality

The Who - Whos Next

Lennon - Imagine

Pink Floyd - Meddle

Zeppelin IV

Yes - Fragile

Grateful Dead - Skull And Roses

Grand Funk Railroad - E Pluribus Funk

Traffic - Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys

Bowie - Hunky Dory

Plus the debut albums by ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, and the Doobie Brothers

Very good list! I would just add Deep Purple's Fireball.

Also can't forget that in 1971, the drinking age in Canada was lowered to 18, and three teenagers from Toronto were able to play some rocking shows and cut their teeth.

I'm not sure about that. It deserves a thread.
