1975

ANATO makes it that way without any need for further evidence, but in case you want some:

TWO Rush albums! FBN and CoS

David Bowie - Young Americans

Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks

AC/DC debuts in Australia

Physical Graffiti and Wish You Were Here, two albums which aren't my biggest favorites, but are obviously incredible.

Kansas - Song For America

AEROSMITH - TOYS IN THE ATTIC

ZZ Top - Fandango!

Bad Company - Straight Shooter

Elton John - Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy

UFO - Force It

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - BORN TO RUN

KISS - ALIVE! (and Dressed To Kill)

CHICAGO IX - CHICAGO'S GREATEST HITS (I was raised on these songs)

Styx - Equinox

And a number of others which I haven't yet heard, but have heard are great.

1994 was a particular interesting time in my life, and as a budding musician and fan of music there were a lot of albums released that year (and the years immediately before/after) that became a permanent part of my life's playlist.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_in_music

Dogman, King's X

Jar of Flies, Alice in Chains

Cleansing, Prong

Dookie, Green Day

Mellow Gold, Beck

The Downward Spiral *, Nine Inch Nails

Superunknown *, Soundgarden

Far Beyond Driven, Pantera

Hoist, Phish

The Division Bell, Pink Floyd

Smash, The Offspring

Weight, Rollins Band

Illmatic **, Nas

Throwing Copper, Live

Ill Communication, Beastie Boys

Purple, Stone Temple Pilots

Betty, Helmet

When I Woke, Rusted Root

Without a Sound, Dinosaur Jr.

File Under: Easy Listening, Sugar

Monster, R.E.M.

Pulp Fiction [soundtrack]

Under the Table and Dreaming, Dave Matthews Band

Awake, Dream Theater

Korn, Korn

MTV Unplugged in New York, Nirvana

Wildflowers, Tom Petty

Vitalogy, Pearl Jam

Sixteen Stone, Bush

* - same f***ing week!!

** - still the only rap album I've ever purchased

These are just the albums that influenced me or were in heavy rotation at the time. there's plenty of great albums not listed that I'm just not a fan of or wasn't listening to at that time.

Dream Theater's "Awake", NIN's "The Downward Spiral", and later on in life Dave Matthews "Under the Table and Dreaming" are probably the most important albums for me on this list.

Can’t pick from 94/95/96. Too many great albums those three years. I was 28,29,30. Some great albums came out when I was in high school but my collection was basically 1966-1984 so no one year killed me like the mid 90s.
