deathlikesilence Posted July 9, 2012 Share Posted July 9, 2012 I enjoy some of his work, namely Fight Club and Choke, but I find the majority of his books, that I've read anyway, hard to take seriously because it feels like he tries a bit too hard to be gross at times. Guys like Burroughs and Selby wrote far more convincingly about filth, and as for contemporary authors who do the same, I usually go with Irvine Welsh and Bret Easton Ellis.
