Jack Aubrey
I decide to try this wonderful drink about a year and a half ago, I searched and found a local package store that carried it and really enjoy Chaucer's mead. I've also had a "very small batch" Amish mead which was quite delicious. Some folks like it mulled with spices which is, IMO, okay, but I find I just prefer it neat. Skaal!
Fridge
I've had it twice in the past, once in Norway and once in Greece....quite differing flavours between the two countries, and not as sweet as you would imagine a fermented honey drink to be. it was ok, but I definitely prefer beer

Nate2112
How hard do you think it'd be to find a place that sells them in Quebec?
JohnnyBlaze
How hard do you think it'd be to find a place that sells them in Quebec? Is this a trick question because I'd guess it's easy. I've tried it just once. It wasn't bad but it also was nothing special.

Search for "hydromel". There's one called "Viking", and a couple from Miel Natur. http://www.saq.com/w...hTerm=hydromiel Oh, there are lots of honeywines, but far fewer meads. IIRC, mead is honeywine. Perhaps this is a reference to mead being used when melomel would be the more appropriate term?
