    • Leave That Thing Alone
    • Cold Fire

    • None. I wouldn't give up any of these.

I know this decade isn't too popular with some Rush fans so the second question is there for you guys to go nuts with.

But this is Rush and IMHO there are some good and great songs in this decade. It's not a total bust.

I went with the T4E trio. I'm a big fan of CATS, and Resist is quality, Even Limbo might be a bit underrated.

There aren't any Rush songs I want to do away with...even if it's years between listens.

A few are B songs...the rest are C - range.

Oh yeah, and Candlebox sucks donkey...

This is one of those rare Rush pics where NP appears to be happier than Alex or Geddy.

I like most of the songs listed. The Counterparts tracks are the strongest bunch. Test for Echo is a mediocre Rush album and the songs presented are a big part of the evidence proving it. Roll the Bones is the weakest, BUT contains the best song among the choices - "Ghost of a Chance".

I went with the T4E trio, because I've always thought Resist was pretty and I like Carve Away the Stone. I don't listen to a lot from this time period because it's not my favorite.

This is such a coincidence, though, because a special package arrived from Amazon today! I opened it at lunch when Mr. blues was home. It's a CD set!  Rush- The Studio Albums- Presto through Snakes & Arrows !! :P Mr. blues says there was a sale at Amazon and he noticed I didn't have most of these! There was a reason for that, but what can I say when someone takes care of me so well??  Obviously I'm destined to listen to them again and see what I've been missing out on!

Def T4E. LTTA is the most overrated instrumental in Rush's discography (it's basically well played elevator music), and RTB just plain sucks by Rush's standards. That said, I can't even remember how Carve Away The Stone goes, so I'd be okay loosing that one as well. Resist and Limbo more than make up for it.

T4E trio easily wins. Wouldn't mind ever hearing Neurotica or You Bet Your Life again. Leave That Thing Alone and Resist get B or higher.

Can't vote. They all suck, so none are my favorite and none are a C- or higher, let alone B-.

Which is the worst trio? Which is the worst tune?

For me, it's easily the Bones trio. GoaC is ok but I dislike the other two, especially YBYL. That one's Top 3 Worst for me.

RTB is the worst trio, I agree, and Neurotica is the worst song of the bunch. They're all so wretched though, I don't think I could stomach thinking of any of them as my "favorite".

this poll is like picking your preferred method of execution.

Would you rather go naked down a 100 foot slide riddled with razor blades which has a pool of iodine waiting at the bottom

OR

Have Axl Rose sit on your face for 10 minutes after a gig?

((Edited to add: Axl's bare bummed and hasn't wiped his sweat off yet))

Neurotica might be in my Top 5 Worst, but definitely Top 10.

How about "least painful trio to listen to"?

No. Then it's too easy.

Can I just say, ew?

Can I just say, ew?

I hear you. I only gave one song a grade of B or higher.

I think the most telling stat is that (currently) 14 out of 18 voters would be ok with never again hearing 1 or more songs off the list

I like four of the songs but the combination just kills it.

The 3 Roll The Bones songs are ALL awesome, especially the last 2. They are among my all time favourite songs. The two other albums are mired by boring instrumentals amongst the last three songs, but otherwise are pretty good. I lean toward the 2 Test For Echo songs a little more, but not by much.

1. Neurotica (A+)

2. You Bet Your Life (A+)

3. Resist (A)

4. Ghost Of A Chance (A)

5. Cold Fire (A-)

6. Carve Away The Stone (B+)

7. Everyday Glory (B)

8. Limbo (D)

9. Leave That Thing Alone (D-)

"The world is a cage for your impotent rage, but don't let it get to you!" is one of my favourite lines of lyric ever written.

Ugh. Can't pick any of them.

How far the band fell in less than 20 years... :sigh:

I would be OK with never hearing anything off this list again. In fact I'm well on the way to doing so.

I live in an odd corner of the world where You Bet Your Life is a fun song and a fan favorite.

And in that same strange world, Ghost of a Chance does nothing for people.

I don't think there is a trio of Rush albums where I fall so separate from other fans than these three. There are many other examples of my Bizarro World experience with that trio.
