PolarizeMe
I am cross-dominant, which means that my left hand is dominant for some tasks, and my right hand for others. Ambidextrous would involve being equally good at the same task with both hands, which I am far from. For simplicity I identify as right handed, purely based on the fact that I write using that hand. I recall being actively discouraged from doing things left-handed at school though, so I consider any right-handedness to be learned and not instinctive.I consider myself as such too, except in my case, I identify as left handed for similar reasons. Boots
I do a lot more with my left side than I used to because I don't wanna get carpal tunnel syndrome on my right side. Things like using the bank machine, punching in the house security code, and carrying my messenger bag. I also eat left handed. I wear Nike sports bands to protect my wrists. Lefties are more accident prone and they often die young.A lot of musicians and professional artists are lefties, but I'm not. Creative activities involve the right side of the brain. I used to work in a FORD factory, and ended up getting carpal tunnel surgery on BOTH wrists. I should have sued, a good lawyer probably would have gotten me a bunch of money, but I needed the MONEY to LIVE on, and FORD steadfastly said THEY did NOT cause my carpal tunnel syndrome. hand tools and such, NOOOOOOO they didn't cause it.....reality sometimes SUCKS.http://i.imgur.com/4U83TF1.gif
librarian
Left-handed, though I do some things right-handed out of necessity. It's a right-handers world.Yeah like scissors.Yes. Righties don't understand. I am right handed but have a daughter that is a leftie that does all kinds of craft things and she is always running into that. The latest is a calligraphy class and trying not to drag her arm across the wet ink; the teacher wasn't too helpful! When she was little and wanted to learn how to write her name she had fun using her left hand but when she put letters together she did mirror writing. The letters were backwards and the order also. It was the strangest thing! We thought she would grow up to be the Unabomber or something until a friend of mine that's a teacher told me it was fairly common. I got a lot of notes signed , EVOL, EM. (except the letters were backwards.). She eventually grew out of it in kindergarten. I still find left handedness intriguing! I remember those days when I wrote like that. In high school sharing a book with someone and looking at the book upside down, and then having to read it out loud - i had no problem with it but it would freak people out - why are you reading upside down, you can do that oh my god!!!

OldRUSHfan
I APOLOGISE TO YOU, DUCKY! I apologise! I'm a govt. program rejected fallout...I think I was under that ill conceived 'Testbed' of trying to 'teach' Left handed kids to become right handed. I was taught AT SCHOOL to throw and catch a baseball, although later I got ambidextrous. Don't know why I never picked up writing with my left hand. When a Frisbee landed in my backyard one day, when I discovered it, I immediately picked it up with my left hand, and threw it left handed. Still throw Frisbees/Golf discs left handed, although I'm getting ambidextrous with those also....http://i.imgur.com/zpr9dvi.gif Edited August 31, 2017 by OldRUSHfan
