Is it worth watching? It's not getting high praise in Denmark.

It's decent enough. Far from the worst thing I've seen this summer, if that's any recommendation.

If Dunkirk is a 10 how would you rate it? :D

6. Tolerable, and much better than 90% of the garbage put forth this year.

That's good enough for me.

On an amazing Blu Ray transfer

Confirmed what I already believed - greatest horror film of all time

http://www.bfi.org.uk/sites/bfi.org.uk/files/styles/half/public/image/suspiria-1977-002-poster_0.jpg?itok=-q2P6jtr

And the follow up to Suspiria

Disappointing but enjoyable .. a tough act to follow, but much of the vibe of the original was killed by Keith Emerson's lame soundtrack

Suspiria is Argento's best by far, but I like Inferno a lot. Some stunning shots in that one, but the soundtrack... oh man. Some of it does not fit at all.

Dunkirk

Best Nolan film yet for me. And one of the most intense movies i've sat through in a while. it was actually draining, lol

but.....you must see it on the big screen. it WILL loose a lot on the small screen.

Naked Gun

I saw this when it first came out. I laughed and laughed, as did everyone else in the theater. Very fun movie to see with a couple hundred others.

Earlier in the evening, I'd seen Eraserhead at a rep cinema with a friend, and we happened to walk by where Naked Gun was playing and thought "what the hell?"

It was a strange but perfect "double-bill".

I'm going to buy it on dvd eventually and watch it on my 15" laptop. I like smaller screens to watch movies or TV on. I find it cozy and intimate :)

I grew up with these kind of movies. Airplane was a favorite too, and the more I watch them the funnier they get because I always seem to discover something new in the background.

This one finally reached these shores last Friday. It's a fun one and is the best of all Spidey films. The only one that's in the same ballpark is part two with Doc Ock.

The MCU did a great job by making Spidey a PROPER teen again and casting an actor who actually is still a teen. Also, Stark/Iron Man was effectively used well here - not too little or too much screen time and in an amusing mentor role. They also smartly weaved this story into the MCU universe but kept it as grounded as Spidey and his world should be.

It's a great lighter toned superhero flick with villains best suited for a still learning and growing Spidey. Keaton's Vulture was good stuff as he wasn't simple, crazy, power mad, ego driven, or a monster.

Additionally, I'm relieved they didn't go through the whole Uncle Ben fandango again.

Here are my very minor gripes though...

1) That's Flash Thompson? He's no bully. He's barely a cloudy day.

2)This one's not really a gripe but I'm putting it anyway -- Only comic fans would've caught it but there was a lot of name dropping with the supporting cast villains. Besides The Vulture and Shocker, I noticed 3 other Spidey villains in there. Sure, it was only their civilian names but still, it felt a little forced.

((Edited to add: There was another minor comic villain in there that I forgot. So, that's 6 in total.))

3) I think they could've done a little more with Shocker 2's attire. I didn't need his full costume or mask but I think street clothes paying more homage to the comic costume could've been done.

Just like that other Mann film, Heat, another good movie that makes good use of L.A. locations.

Saw this earlier this year. It was better than I had expected. Overall, an above average flick.

Didn't think there was much to this film, but when it turned up on Netflix I gave it a shot and was surprised of the aftermath for the pilots.

I keep meaning to watch it. Glad to hear that it is interesting!

I have looked at this several times to watch but never have. Seemed like it would be boring. Glad to hear that it's not.

I saw this last night.

It could've slid into all the cliches that you'd think possible but it doesn't.

Worth a watch.

Opera_-_Film_1987.jpg

Storm, what do you think ??

Top tier Argento ?

His last great film ??

Yeah, Opera is probably his last great film. I do like Trauma, Sleepless, and his segment from Two Evil Eyes, but I wouldn't call them great.

The Mother of Tears was pretty disappointing all around, but he made it up with Dracula 3D! Just kidding, I couldn't even finish that one. What a note to end on.

My top five, in order:

Suspiria

Phenomena

Inferno

Tenebrae

Deep Red

I love the first 2/3 of the movie. Very well done.
