My three filler tracks are High Water, Tai Shan, and...Second Nature. I never pass up an opportunity to bash Second Nature. It would be a filler track on a Celine Dion album. I still can't believe it was written and recorded by Rush, and then actually included on a Rush album. Awful.

My three faves are Open Secrets (the guitar solo and bass are excellent), Lock and Key, and Mission.

Second Nature is one of my all time favourite RUSH songs along with Prime Mover and Turn The Page. I especially like the lyrics of Second Nature. This is some of Neil Peart's best work and really touches on the crux of important social issues. I absolutely LOVE it! This is a really strong album from start to end, only slightly less awesome than the two that preceded it. The only song I would have taken off is Tai Shan, but I also find Lock And Key & Mission to be a little weaker than most of the rest of the album.

Can't vote as I don't think there's any filler there.

Tai Shan's not great but it's passable enough for me to say it's not filler.

I'll say this though...

Top 3: Force 10, Mission, Time Stand Still

Additionally, it's Peart's overall best stuff lyrically.

Oh, I'd give it an 8.

For me the top ones are Turn the Page, Open Secrets and Lock and Key

Filler: Tai Shan and High Water just those two. All the rest are good. I think if this album just had 8 tracks or 40 minutes like most of the previous albums then this one might be the best of the synth era, it might still be, it's definitely underrated anyway...

Hasn't aged well to my ears. That said, I like Time Stand Still, Mission, and High Water a lot. I'll give it five out of ten Casios...

Time Stand Still, Mission and Prime Mover. #3 choice could easily be Force Ten or Turn the Page depending on the day.

Filler? Tai Shan (reluctantly). Yes, I like it.

I may wind up being the only person on the forum to give this album a 10 but I love it that much.

It was the album that came out when I was becoming a Rush fan. Its also the first cd I bought (not at the same time). Incidentally I still own that cd.

I had it on cassette, and loved it on its release. At the time it seemed that they'd realized the modern sound they'd been working toward. Oddly, what was once a modern sound now sounds very dated to me.

Nope...you're not the only one.

And I believe we're not the only two!

(But close to it, hahaha).

Top three, and there are only three...

Force Ten, Time Stand Still, Turn the Page...and I don't even particularly like Time Stand Still (Aimee Mann is overrated). It's just that if I have to choose three that'd have to be one of them because at least it's tolerable.

All the rest is filler.

Mission's acapella opener makes me cringe. Tai Shan is just embarrassing. All the rest are just no.

I rated it a 3. If I was in a worse mood I'd rate it a 2.

Top three for me are Open Secrets (lyrics=ouch!), Turn the Page and Mission

Filler is Tai Shan, High Water, and Second Nature.

IMO this album is the last record that could actually be called "great" and the last album to be truly worthy of the Rush brand, even though the rot had started to set in slightly.

Top 3 are Force Ten, Open Secrets & Prime Mover

Filler is Tai Shan, still like the song though!

Hold Your Fire is 9, almost as good as Power Windows!!!

For me the top 3 are:

1. Time Stand Still (my 3rd favorite Rush song)

2. Force 10

3. Under Lock & Key

Filler? None. However the poll is forcing me to pick so I picked the weakest song (by far - even though I can't call it filler material) and thats High Water.

I rate the album a 10 and voted accordingly. It has some of Neil's best lyrics and I very much enjoy the music.

The only Rush albums I like more are 2112 & (perhaps) Power Windows. Its a great album.

Got no thriller, it's all filler.

If stranded on a desert island with only this album to listen to, I'd frisbee chuck it out into the ocean.

I hate this POS album.
